I know. I am neither a commentator nor even a legitimate
advocate. But this is just my opinion about why we, the
citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, should do our part in exercising the
right of suffrage.
Yes, despite all the badmouthing we heard from the all corners, or even on the media regarding the government and their wrongdoings.
First and foremost, we are living in a democratic country. Republican
Democratic in fact; which means that we, the majority, have the right to choose
or elect whom we felt we deserved. And if that candidate won, he will be known as
a representative to his constituents, (in short, that’s us).
Next thing, it is our obligation and responsibility to elect
people whom we think has the capability to lead our government. Yes, anyone whose
at legal age and a registered voter of a certain area
(municipality/city/province). Try sneaking
at some pages on the book of Constitution if you want a proof to that
statement.
And lastly, I guess this is something that I am agreeing on.
You can’t have a right to complain if you have not done your part in helping
your country. It’s as similar on much simpler and much complicated tasks such
as following traffic rules and paying taxes.
Hopefully this article asking made some clear answers to
you. Thanks for reading this anyway.
P.S. Wish me luck for the PBS/NBN/RPN/IBC-13’s Hatol ng Bayan auditions next week. By the way you can add me up at abs-cbn’s bmpm website search for the user “lilslick28” there. Thank you. – n.d. (03/19/2010 | 10:24 p.m.)
