It was Saturday, November 16, 2013. All eyes were at the SM Convention Center Hall 1 inside the SM Aura Premier mall in Taguig City for the 2nd instalment of the biggest business-to-blogger exhibit in town – the 2013 Blogapalooza.
The event was co-sponsored by the lifestyle website When in Manila and Our Awesome Planet. And yours truly was grateful to be part of the event by being one of around 500 participants. Thanks to one of my blogging buddies who managed to invited me to sign up for Blogapalooza. Well, I never expected to be part of them either.
A lot of business groups went on to exhibit their own services and products to bloggers, such as Ambient Digital, Figaro Coffee, Enjoy Philippines, Bounty Fresh Chicken's Chooks to Go, Hungry Juan, PLDT, The Mind Museum, Richwell Trading, View Park Hotel, Lazer Xtreme, Platowraps, Café France food group, and more.
Along the way, a lot of personalities took part in several speaking engagement sessions, such as Bogart the Explorer and Mickey Bustos , Jason Cruz, Philip Abadicio Karen Borador, the hosts from Magic 89.9’s evening prime time show Boys Night Out, members from the Writer’s Block Philippines to name a few. Tim Tayag’s Comedy Cartel done their part of providing comic relief for the audience.
The thing is I managed to come by there by around 1 in the afternoon, two hours from its launching (11 AM). And aside from that, I manage to re-acquainted with some of the members of the blogging industry whom I personally met at the 9th Philippine Blogging Summit a few months ago.
And just minutes after I personally went to the event itself, I managed to meet Bogart once again, and he also told us that Stanley Chi’s launching of his latest book will come in some time this December.
A lot of freebies were given away from the majority of the booths present. Most of them invited bloggers to feature their products.

Project Awesome Philippines surprised everyone with their act of “flash mob.” Well, they are indeed awesome there. They managed to hack every single one of us’ attention there to perform several dance moves. What an indeed, (I repeat) an awesome number there.
Also, one of the key personnel from World Vision Philippines shared her insights during what happened at the city of Tacloban during the onslaught of typhoon Yolanda. Yes, she was there at the height of the catastrophe and managed to return to Manila by riding a C130 plane. Thus, the “Piggy Bank Movement” was held during Blogapalooza.
All I can is… wow. Blogapalooza was one hell-of-an-event. And they also took part of helping all the victims of the super storm Haiyan. Indeed, they raised a total amount of P82,000 – P50 grand of them went to the World Vision Philippines, which yours truly also donated a few amount. Vince Golangco certainly did a great job of hosting the event. And not to mention, I personally met him backstage.
Well, I believe there will be more to come as time goes by. So, see you at the next Blogapalooza as I give my salute and kudos to the gropus who made this thing very, very possible!
P.S. If there’s one thing I would like to make it clear by next time though… is the spelling of my blog site. Well, not really a big deal.
