As much as I don’t really dig those
Outfits of the Days, (I mean I don’t really flaunt my OOTDs unlike
the present trend), I ended up sharing the shirt I personally
conceptualized.
Yes, it all started as a cover photo
which also uploaded on my Instagram account.
Four words: EAT. SLEEP. RANT. REPEAT.
At some point, I don’t really have an idea how I end up making this idea-put-into-clothing possible. I know, the overall design was too simple or even lame. All it had here were just four printed words (in a plain Impact font) laid on a black-colored background. Maybe because black was my second favorite color (aside from red).
And also, this type of mantra
(the eat-sleep-[insert word here]-repeat thing) was often-used as a pop culture phenomenon worldwide, so still I won’t claim this
thing as my original piece even if some of my friends from the
blogosphere already suggested I should patent this idea of EAT.
SLEEP. RANT. REPEAT.
But it would appear that I would
own the idea that a lot of people already have made before I do, and that’s an unfair practice. Disrespectful, especially to that heel manager named
Paul Heyman.
In case you don’t know why the Helen of Troy I
incorporated Heyman into this post, let me take you back to that Monday
Night RAW episode early this year where his client Brock Lesnar (sorry I
won’t say it with emphasis, kids) actually don a sleeveless shirt
with the words EAT SLEEP CONQUER REPEAT imprinted on it.

So now you know where I got this
mantra, right? Yes, a similar mantra. And with all due respect, I am giving my credit and respect to the pro wrestling's presently-most hated guy.
Maybe I was the first one to create an EAT
SLEEP RANT REPEAT shirt. (You will see EAT SLEEP RAVE REPEAT for most of the time.) Still I won't buy that argument for a copyright claim.
At least, when I attend some blog-related
events, you will know who the hell SlickMaster is. In fact, after series of happenings, turns out I made a branding strategy, something I never expect at all.
This may be my OOTD for Blogapalooza
2014, but sorry I won’t publish the shots where I am actually wearing this.

Nice statement shirt, been meaning to design my own as well, maybe it's about time I did. Not too into posting OOTD's either, like the trend haha. I think I only did it once, last year just to tag and show support for the awesome local IG shop I bought Marikina made shoes from. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I saw someone wearing that shirt at the Blogapalooza since the statement caught my attention. Cool!
ReplyDeleteChances are you just saw me right there.
DeleteWhen I first read your blog I really thought it was your line, haha. I had no idea Paul Heyman started something similar to it!
ReplyDeletePretty cool mantra. I also want to design my own statement shirt. I don't watch WWE anymore. The last time I watched wrestling was when it was still called WWF
ReplyDeleteI've already saw shirts with same statements except for the 3rd word. But this is pretty cool :)
