First Blood

6/7/2015 11:57:23 AM

Well, as per historical books, that leaves the Golden State Warriors drawing first blood to end their four-decade long title drought. And with them making a comeback from a 14-point deficit to take the first game of the NBA Championship series at their homecourt? That was a magical one.

After being down 29-15 late in the first quarter, GSW rallied to get back in the game within the next two quarters.

And with a deadlock after 36 minutes, the Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers were back to square one. Wait, I stand corrected; because after four quarters, we’re tied again, which barely means we need an extra session to settle the score.

And it was proven enough: the Cavs have yet to win a Finals game since making it to the big stage eight years ago.

The problem though is that can LeBron be the mighty superhero-slash-savior for this team again who already lost Andersen Varejao, Kevin Love, and now… Kyrie Irving?

Irving will have to sit the rest of the entire series and even off-season training camp due to an injury in his knee cap he sustained during the overtime period of Game 1.

Now that’s gonna hurt even more.

Well, for the Cavaliers fans, all that one can hope for is to put up a fight on game 2 and steal one. And that will be on Sunday night in Oakland (Monday morning Manila time).
