There's nothing more awesome than what happened last Monday night on WWE's flagship program Raw. It reminds me of an old Scott Hall remark in WCW: “You want war? You're gonna get one!”
And indeed, every single member of the WWE Universe was treated for al all-out brawl between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker.
It's like when was the last time we have seen such huge confrontation scene? Looks like the good ol' days of professional wrestling, eh?
After the Hell in a Cell main event in 2011, The Awesome Truth (R-Truth and Miz) attacked the competitors John Cena, Alberto del Rio and then-WWE champion CM Punk inside the locked steel cage, causing a commotion—and a thriller (?!) finish in the pay-per-view event. And moreover, a questionable move by the corporation's COO Triple H.
In 2012, John Cena did the unthinkable by slapping Brock Lesnar in the face, causing the latter to strike the former's mouth.
At the RAW before WWE TLC in 2013, John Cena altercated with Randy Orton after the titles were hanged at the top of the ring for their upcoming Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the now-unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Few personalities were also involved during the massive scuffle, such as CM Punk, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon. Though the sequence only lasted for a few minutes.
But what do all of them have in common? The commotion made the locker-room empty for a while as superstars, security, and even referees head over to the squared circle to pacify the heated situation (with the exception in RAW pre-TLC '13).
And for a wrestling fan, this is what the sport is all about. This is what makes a wrestling show more entertaining with those “LET THE FIGHT” chants. Yes, you can call me sadistic for this but that is actually the real deal in a sport like wrestling—even if it's a scripted action.
