The Pre-take: WrestleMania 32 - Power for Power

So, it was that time of the year again for the sports entertainment world. That Sunday full of nothing but storytelling thru combat forces and physicality which serves as a teleserye to the machismo world. Yes, just like your dramarama every primetime hours of 24/7, professional wrestling has a show like no other. Four (or even seven) hours of live entertainment, and that is called WrestleMania.

With the Mania stage going at the famous AT&T stadium, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has poised to an even bigger challenge, something they vowed to do so almost two years ago. Can they deliver WrestleMania, the way both themselves and the fans have wanted, especially on draawing attendance records and injuries to their key superstars? 

Imagine a Superbowl-like event trying to draw thousands (even six digits) of crowd, from all circles, despite missing the services of Sting, Randy Orton, and star of them all, John Cena. Despite having about 84,000+ tickets sold to fans around the world, can they even top the all-time high attendance record of 108,000+ inside the Cowboys Stadium, something that the NBA had done in 2010 when they staged their All-Star Game at the same exact venue in Dallas, Texas?

Cena is out with a shoulder injury. So that inserts Shane MacMahon in the lineup. Who would’ve thought that this 46-year old son of Vince (not of “a bitch”) would dare to defy the odds by challenging The Undertaker in his favorite game yard, the Hell in a Cell match?

While it appears he still got what it takes to risk life and limb inside the squared circle (or for that matter, inside the devil’s cage) stories will tell you The Undertaker might still prevail. After all, we are still at the Authority era. And that’s what’s best for business. 

There’s a slim (if not “no”) chance in hell that Mean Mark will go 22-2 and will be on his last WrestleMania this year. Besides, if ever he do so, this WWE folklore has been on its continuity for too long that creatives are swerving around and around and around as fuck. So expect a resurrection soon, unless Callaway decides to really hang his gloves and strike no more. After all, two-and-a-half decades of dominance was a very long run for a professional wrestler.

But of course, it will be a total different ball game should Cena hasn’t been injured. Because it’s not about the power of authority wherein they will battle for. Unless they decide to make a post-Survivor Series 2014 tale.

I’m afraid Shane’s comeback might have end up being another Sting-like finish. It may not be a debut, but definitely he will lose. But that doesn’t mean he will give Taker -- and the fans -- a run of their money. 

His comeback already drawn pops. And good thing, after a ruckus start, the hype of this ShaneOMac-Taker feud developed rapidly to the extent where things got as personal as it gets. Forget Shane’s tweet about failing to deliver a promo, he bounced back really...really well!

Now this match looks even better than the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match itself.
