Hiphop band Assembly Generals is in their poetic self again with their release of the music video called Sakalawakan, a track serving as a gateway to liberation and enlightenment; with deep portrayal by Rjay Ty, Nikki Paqueo, and Ellie Centeno, and done on sonic graphical and visual forms by director Gian Mawo.
Sakalawakan is like a getaway from the frustration brought by harsh realities, done in such a bunch of mind-excavating thoughts in rapping from, braving the struggles without the need of probe or preaching.
Seeing AG releasing Sakalawakan as a single gives them another variant that is totally similar and different from Kontrabida. Similar because of how the verses speaks well for its theme done on hard-hitting mixes; but different because it has this funky yet chilly vibes; shying away from the violent-like vibe on the same textural path.
Plus the fact that Sakalawakan just sounds as exactly as it is live.
