It’s rare to find a worthy collective of two art pieces: music and spoken word poetry. That is something that fans of both worlds should get, the collaboration album of SUD and Words Anonymous.
In this album titled SKIN we will find the convergence of poetry done in recording serving as an accompaniment to the works of Sud Ballecer and his the soul-jazz-alternative group.
Eight musical tracks, paired with eight auditory craft of WA, all on a similar theme: the sultry romance expressed in poetic way possible. It’s like baring the naked, explicit self without the aid of spitting profanity (if not less censored).
SKIN has been a rare kind of gem from its notable poets/speakers, done despite not having their popular act Juan Miguel Severo on the listing. But the mere fact that Words Anonymous has been one of the pilots of this kind, this is a must-hear.
And in case of a better listening pleasure, here’s a tip I get from reading a Facebook post of Mr. Ren Aguila -- try hearing a Words Anonymous recording after each SUD track.
That being said, SKIN should be part of the top album list of 2016. Yes, same level as their album price.
Verdict: 8/10
