WWE Back in Manila?!

05/25/2016 09:02:10 AM

So, how true that after quite a long while, the World Wrestling Entertainment will hit by the country once again?

If you remember the RAW and Survivor Series tour in 2006, the SmackDown & ECW pit stop in 2009, and even those old tours in Cuneta Astrodome and Cebu in the past decades, then you might not miss to see the new breed of superstars at Mall of Asia Arena.

That's a big IF. Well, IF the SM Tickets Facebook page were right. Yesterday, this poster leaked on their account, but was taken down hours later.

Allegedly, the promotional material features the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns (and take note—he doesn't have his belt right here), Charlotte, The New Day, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Alberto del Rio, Sasha Banks and Kane. Show was supposedly slated Friday evening, 9 September 2015; with tickets for sale by 3 June, priced to as highest as P15,000 at ringside.

Say, is it too early for the announcement, or did their social media guy screw up on their timing, much to fantasy of millions of wrestling fans in the Philippines?

We all know we've been clamoring for wrestling even if it's obviously scripted, ever since the old Attitude Era days; so it's no secret why in the past 2-3 years, we have packed venues which airs WrestleMania live, right? As well as having our very own wrestling promotion such as Philippine Wrestling Revolution (PWR).

So it's no surprise why in 2014 and 2015, when WWE waged their tour across Asia, we were flat-faced in disappointment when the promotion took a filed trip only in Malaysia, Japan, and India.

This might be an obvious truth at all. But let's wait for further clarification of details. We'll never know if there will be an addition right there.

Speaking of updates, further details can also be spilled at Smark Henry as the WWE itself announced via their President for International Events Gerrit Meier.

Apparently, as of noon time, the site was formally up, and it's organized by Wilbros Live and Dainty Group Asia! Click here)
