Perhaps it was kinda surprising to see Dolph Ziggler once again emerged into the major title picture of the WWE right now, eh?
Look: the former world champion has been away from the limelight for over two years and has barely made it to the main event scene of any pay-per-view gig.
And fast-forward to the new era, it was the Show-Off who literally stole the show from anyone else – both veterans and newcomers; all for the chance to take a shot for the WWE World Championship, which is currently reigned by the lunatic fringe Dean Ambrose.
The question: could Dean hold on the title for at least one more time? Can he go for another successful title defense? Since Seth Rollins' injury, the WWE World Championship has been defended for not more than four times; that's if if we only count the televised events.
Besides, this Ziggler's chance to prove himself once again that he is that damn good. The veteran will own the world once again. Even if there might be a chance of a rivalry brewing between Dolph and Bray Wyatt; something that has been teasing for weeks.
Unless another option is coming, that will be the lunatic fringe, creating a creepy alliance with the Wyatts for a moment. I mean, there's also possibility that Ambrose will still be retaining the title, but expect someone like Bray to come after the prize since he's been groomed to be the top heel of the show.
And why not? The faction – though literally a force to reckon with – has been a joke for since the start of the year. Heck, we would even thought for a second that Bray might face Brock Lesnar? Or even his former brother Brawn Strowman. Neither didn't take place.
Still, I'd like to see a new era unveil by having a rejuvenated Dolph Ziggler as the WWE World Champion. That is just one huge step to make SmackDown as cool as it is.
