The Scene Around: Nag[ma]mahal Pa Rin, BennyBunnyBand

09/19/2016 11:45:59 AM

It's been a year since this kuneho rock band released their extended play (EP) called Nag[ma]mahal, BennyBunnyBand.

And it may be a heck-of-a-busy night around the metropolitan area with WWE Manila waging at the Mall of Asia Arena and Kia Beats Festival rocking the Araneta Center; but there's one venue just outside downtown Makati that has at least, faring up very well to the hype of the evening.

Talk about being the underdogs for the night – and I mean it literally – as We Are The Underdogs Productions kicked off their first anniversary with the anniversary celebration of BennyBunnyBand's first record, as well as the formal launches of the WAT UP Shirt and the web comic series collaboration by Ligaya Komiks and the band itself.

Performers during the evening were Burn Mercado, Dissonance, Glen Tiopez, Tanya Markova, Kalmado, and BennyBunnyBand.

Apparently, surprise also came to the band's vocalist Benny Giron as he celebrated his birthday. That looked like a four-time big-time gig at all.

Isn't that sweet, especially during those few minutes when it was all brotherly love as Benny's brother sent him a greeting straight from Dubai.

Hearing other bands like Glen Tiopez and Kalmado was a new experience for me, with the latter donning the police uniform for the gig.

And I think this is one of the wildest set I ever heard from Tanya Markova. Feels like I'm on a rock concert with the hot, sweaty, adrenaline-pumping atmosphere inside saGuijo during their set. Everyone was hyped and alive.

Congratulations, BennyBunnyBand!
