Raoul Imbach has taken his musical journey into another while level as The Singing Diplomat launched a record that served his collection of musings about a country whom he served for the past three years – a 14-track album from his group Raoul and The Wild Tortillas titled “Tribute To The Philippines.”

“'Tribute To the Philippines' is a present I want to offer to the Filipino people after spending three years as a diplomat and artist in this country,” said Imbach, the Deputy head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy and oftenly regarded as a Renaissance Man due to being successful on a lot of passion and ventures. The album was launched at Vu's sky bar and lounge of Marco Polo Ortigas last 24 November 2016.

Tribute to The Philippines comprised of 14 songs of which four are sang in Tagalog, five are in a mix of Tagalog and English, and five were performed in English language alone. All but one are original compositions –– with half of them penned by Raoul alone while the rest are from his bandmates (keyboardist Marlon Fernan, bassist Jaime Villas, percussionist Ferdinand Salamat, guitarist Roderick Manubay, and drummer Rennie “Bok” Vargas) and from invited guest singer/composer DJ Grimm.

The album, Imbach's 11th in over his 50 years as an entertainer and composer, is released in USB format. Not only the 14 tracks were inside this material, but also four original video clips, a “behind the scene” video, a photo gallery, and clips which include the lyrics of the songs. It is bannered by two songs that are directly inspired by the country: “Binibini” and “It's More Fun In The Philippines.”

Apart from the Tribute launch, Raoul and The Wild Tortillas will be waging a gig in Luneta by early next year. For more information, check out Raoul's website thesingingdiplomat.com their Facebook page at facebook.com/raoulandthewildtortillas.
