This year was the only time I managed to watch Wrestle Kingdom for the first time. Somewhat to review it from what I usually do and at the same time compare it to the ones I have seen from what the World Wrestling Entertainment might be quite unfair to do so.

Well, just imagine for almost six hours, there are 11 matches took place for the evening – with all of the eight championships from NJWP and ROH were also put on the line. Six of them switched hands at the end of those matches, and the two major prizes end up in a very successful defense by their champions.
And probably the attendance record of 26,192 looked like a bit sub par if WK is considered the greatest wrestling show outside the United States; but hey, it could be a shitty argument either as even for the less fancy entrances, Wrestle Kingdom still had that Super Bowl-like atmosphere inside Tokyo Dome with the typical Japanese pro wrestling showcased at its finest way to kick off the new year. And certainly that main event right there between Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship has piloted the wrestling word for their own match of the year candidate.
Talk about continuing the tradition for the 11th time, eh? May be first time to see a WK show, but this might just raised the bar for the entire pro wrestling world.
Verdict: 9/10
