It may be April 1 but the scorching hot weather was no joke and were serious to welcome everyone to the 2017 Summer Komikon that took place in Unilab Bayanihan Center in Pasig City. And a short visit for a first-timer guy like me turned out to be hot in a good way.
Turns out there was a discussion which involved some of the creators of those series from the epic 90s publication titled Pilipino Funny Komiks inside one of their conference centers. Imagine living to those rough times if you are a visual storyteller.
And in the main area, people flocking on every stall possible, making this small-sized place into a populated one by the looks. And make no mistake about it: this proves how comics were still loved by Filipinos despite the ongoing times of advancements and (of course) and is such an under-rated great piece of art and literature.
At least, I have my eyes awaken up to more choices to dig aside from the usual Beerkada, Pugad Baboy, and Kiko Machine Komix and News Hardcore.
