Philippine Wrestling Revolution has reached its last stop before staging their annual spectacle later this month. And it seems that massive obstacles has hampered on its path towards Wrevolution X.
The revolution returned to one of its former houses at 500 Shaw Zentrum in Mandaluyong City. However, did the event lived up to its expectations?
Well, the slingblades has been the name of the game. Imagine seeing them in majority of the matches during PWR's latest outing. It's like everyone has been using it like those superkicks in the past, Not really a bad thing, but compared to the typical chain-wrestling and shoulder tackles, and this probably made up for its lacking of outside-the-ring action, something that PWR has been doing more often than #TooMuchSlingblade.
And too many low blows, too; seems everyone channels the Nutcracker – err, sorry... Shinsuke Nakamura there, eh?
It seems to me that John Sebastian and Crystal being exposed in a series of post-match shenanigans (more often than their tag team championship duel) symbolizes how frantic can they be as authoritative figures.
I don't know if it's just me, but this could also tweak how round-looking fate of John's character in the long run. And we could have probably getting that pace until Ralph Imabayashi tricked his eventual challenger Miguel Rosales to sign the contract for a PWR Championship match against him – with the latter's career also in jeopardy.
Mr. Sy's character comprised of 1 huge pro and 1 huge con – he's been a great talker yet can't seem to get a grasp of managing his stalwarts.
Meantime, Quatro and the conquest against his former group has been getting more interesting that it's probably headlining the preshow for so long. No, this isn't a shame for PWR's promotional peeps, and anyone who suits up later than the usual opening time must've miss half of their life with that one.
Brad Cruz's new finisher seems funny yet as silly. It just made your pinfall stick further to the mat and made your opponent dead AF while you're getting the vagina lock-like treatment. Tanginang “kainan na!” yan.
Interesting to see a collaborative work between two promotions here: Frankee Thurteen got involved in the TDTxECX vs. YoLo Twins match and pits Robin Sane to team up with the millennials against the comedic duo. Who will be Trian and Evan's mystery partner, though? Better hope we don't get a WrestleMania 34-like treatment here.
Imagine also if Alexander Belmonte III now gets a chance to be a standout as a singles competitor for the all-out war championship after the chaos that has put the PWR GM John Sebastian to a halt. Will he stand out for himself just like his co-Network or will he fold anew and live a confusing life on why Lodi has turned back – and flat – on him. At least Peter Versoza got a better gimmick and has been keeping it for quite some time.
Jake de Leon's win proved he doesn't need a broom to win over his opponents. His sheer will to win does. His new submission hold has done the job for him to vanquish Sandata and (moreover) Dax Xaviera.
We got Robynn and Martivo as the new number one contender – all that despite the former taking a sick suplex from opponent Zayden Trudeau.
The main event lived up to its expectations and make no mistake about Chris Panzer being a standout of them all. Hell, if Smark Henry awarded him the Wrestler of the Night distinction, this could also mean that he and WrevoX opponent Rederick Mahaba could steal the show. Sorry, Joseph Vivien!
With a relatively low-number of crowd (as opposed to their previous events) and a bad lights setting plus audio miscues and NO VISUALS, it is still pretty safe to say PWR Live: Trapik managed to be a good show at its own right. There are series of clear-cut injections to a number of their storylines that has probably made the reason why this wrestling gig is named as such.
The venue could've done better should this promotion decide to wage another show in this place soon.
Meanwhile, bastusan times ahead!

The Verdict: 7.5/10
