Volvo, through its Philippine distributors Civic Merchandising, Inc. and Topspot Heavy Equipment, has launched on Tuesday, 15 May 2018, its newest offering in their line of excavators to the market.
The new heavy construction equipment known as the Volvo EC200D is the fastest 20-ton class excavator the brand has on its product line. With shorter cycle times and outstanding lifting capabilities, the vehicle is set to deliver significant productivity improvements for all types of general construction work.
During its formal launching, the Volvo EC200D is has demonstrated how fast it can do the job, from digging, lifting, and unloading. Yes, so fast... like for let's say 20 seconds or even less. Watch this video to find out.
But apart from doing fast cycle works, the new EC200D has all the premium features that Volvo always have, such as world-class fuel efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, service availability, and more. Plus, this construction vehicle showcases exceptionally high-swing torque and unique lifting capabilities which makes it the natural choice for general construction earthmoving work.
The fast cycle time has worked on the new EC200D so well thanks to its Volvo D5E tier with output of 123kW at 2,000 rpm, and strong hydraulics – all that in a 5.7m boom, 2.9m arm, and 0.8m3 bucket, and a 116kN maximum breakout force.
Aside from boasting its distinctive advantage, Volvo's new EC200D is extremely-well balanced which gives the machine exceptionally-good loading capacities at any boom and arm position.
“The combination of a powerful engine, strong hydraulics in an exceptionally well-balanced machine makes the EC200 capable of lifting heavier weight at a higher swing speed. All this translates into higher productivity,” said AM Muralidharan, Vice President for Sales Support and Dealer Development in Volvo CE, Sales Region, APAC.

The EC200D is available in the India and Southeast Asia countries, including the Philippines.
