PlayBack: Carousel Casualties – Flats (music video)

06/05/2018 04:18:50 AM

Nearly two years after reestablishment, the first step that Carousel Casualties made is releasing their very first song titled FLATS. Together with five other songs, Flats became the band's first living testament of changing sounds through their first-released EP titled Madison – a derivative from the song itself.

Fast forward to May 2018, the quartet finally unveiled the music video for CC's first single, and it featured a potential-superb effort from Terrace Kids Productions, as well as the fellow peers from bands Where's Ramona? and LaLuna.

A story that tells the difference of statures in life. One moment, you guys are glued together, but when someone hits the fame, it could spell the wide margin of distance. It definitely lived to the song's lyricism. And while some may have not notice that right away, it's probably due to the technicalities of the visuals that are so appealing to see, with all those rainbow chromatic backdrops that has enable pop art moving images taking over the performance video portions of this MV.

The color-grading and editing must've had a hard time in polishing the entire thing, no matter how screen glitches may get a bit out of hand during the plot scenes. And they did fantastic in doing so despite the obvious hair-crops. All in all, the band shots may have given you a rejuvenated feeling of those classic plain-looking sets you usually see in some either 80s and 90s TV shows.

FLATS is obviously just a primer to what Carousel Casualties can offer. Make no mistake about it: this indie-garage rock band is set for more – and I mean beyond MADISON.

The Verdict: 8
