PlayBack: Veronica and I (self-titled EP)

It was probably a worthwhile wait for the real-couple Veronica Macato and Mike Ducusin, together with the band they formed called Veronica and I, to produce another product out of their love for music – and we mean a record; a five-track self-titled EP which was launched in October of 2017.

Veronica and I EP is poised for the laidback times, a dreamy feel-good vibe embodying in the easy-listening pop with the very minimal resemblances of alternative rock.

And out of five tracks, Elope seems to be the one who has somewhat the close-to-fitting mold in the production, with Veronica's vocals nearly-submerged by its instrumentals in some lines of the two verses. Still, a good choice in making this as the piloting single as the Imaginary Boyfriend has been known as their stapled favorite for years.

With three places serving as their production venues plus people like Roger Alcantara, Franco Malaya and Kurt Floresca helping out, this EP appears to be as independently-produced, with the backing of MCA Music as their only digital distributor. Not to mention, Veronica and Mike doing a ton of taking turns in guitars, bass, and even vocal duties.

Here's to more of the chilling times with this bunch of dreampop tracks.

The Verdict: 8
