The Scene Around: Liwa Art Collective

01/08/2019 04:23:11 PM

It was a summer in December as Seamulat staged one weekend full of aesthetics and advocacy in Liwa, San Felipe, Zambales.

The 3-day festivity is called Liwa Art Collective, which featured a series of wall-painting across the driveways going to Sitio Liwliwa, more known as the Liwa shoreline that are currently a haven for surfers and beachgoers. Apart from the eye-candy paints, the Liwa Art Collective also features the place's rich culture and lifestyle (not monetary, though) highlighted by a two-night concert featuring both locals acts such as Finding Mario, You-kelele Kids, and acts visiting bands Manila such as Typecase, Bawal Clan, Lion and The Scouts, The Oemons, and Rice Lucido plus DJ sets by Natty Else.

And capping this trifecta was the beach-cleaning activity held Sunday morning at the shoreline, a growing campaign that encourages everyone to keep the shores clean and free from trash. Talk about caring for the environment as the year 2018 ends.

Interesting cause they got here, as they intend to make Liwa such a livable place – full of arts, nature, and good vibes. Worth the ticket, if you ask me, though we kinda wish to have a different kind of armband for separate days.
