Upcoming: PWR Path of Gold 2019

03/03/2019 08:56:27 PM

The road to Wrevolution X officially begins as Philippine Wrestling Revolution is set to stage the PWR event Path of Gold on 17 March 2019 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati.

This annual wrestling special features 20 PWR stars – all competing in this distinct multi-person gauntlet-ish tournament match for the coveted Path of Gold trophy that will give them a rare yet instant opportunity for any of the top championship title at the PWR's biggest show of the year.

Imagine if the eventual winner can eventually change the current landscape of PWR's title picture in just a whim, just like its past winners Jake De Leon (2015-2016; PWR), Chris Panzer (2017; PWR), and Ken Warren (2018;PHX), who eventually became bagged the biggest prizes at Wrevolution X later that year, respectively. Almost everyone ― Mike Madrigal, Quatro, Joey Bax, Vlad Sinnsyk, Revo Ranger, The Endgame, “El Guapo” Carlos Zamora, Chino Guinto, Alexander Belmonte III, Jaye Sera, and a whole lot more ― is gunning for the shot and join the pool of winners for the first time.

On the other hand, The Motor City Angel Chris Panzer aims to become the two-time PoG winner – but that will happen if he managed to get past international wrestler Eric Walker first. Known as The Dynomite Soul, Walker was handpicked by Mr. Sy in this tournament qualifier contest. He wrestled in various countries such as United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea.

Not only we will be seeing the spectacle that is the Path of Gold match, but also international-flavored bouts, a Path of Gold-qualifying contest, and all of the four PWR championship titles will be defended in this live event. Leading the way for the defenses is the PWR Championship match between Ralph Imabayashi and his former partner, the King of Schlong Style, Rederick Mahaba.

Mainstream no more since Vendetta '18, Mahaba broke his in-ring hiatus at PWR Live: Nice and sent a message to the PWR Champion who once he considered a best friend, the same person who he usually introduce and helps succeed in every title defense. Now, champ meets ex-supporter, and the distinction of Kampeon ng Pilipinas is at stake. Will Imabayashi stand tall at the end come Sunday?

After months of clamoring and chasing, Ken Warren has finally claimed one thing he'd been wanting so bad since PWR Live: Way Of The Champion – the rematch clause for the Philippine Excellence Championship.

However, he will not face the same foe that defeated him. Instead, Warren will have his hands full on the current PHX title-holder John Sebastian. Can the Social Media Sinister culminate his journey on the long, windy, brutal road to gold by defeating the Wrestling Lord and Savior and become the first and only 3-time champ? We can only find out the result when the bell tolls on Sunday.

They are b-b-b-back from the dead and they are on a mission come Path of Gold: take the tag team golds in a not-so-nice way. The YOLO Twins shrugged their way past 3 other tag teams to earn themselves a shot for the PWR Tag Team Championship against the Naughty Boys of Philippine Wrestling – Evan Carleaux and Trian Dela Torre.

Will Yohann and Logan be able to clinch the titles against the current duo champs, who – together with the entire faction members Jhemherlhynn, Camus, and Kap Tutan – had a bad outing last February at PWR Live: Nice? Is friendship enough to live another day for the Naughty Boys and defeat the 2-time  tag-team champ seeking Yolo Twins?

After a long absence from the squared circle, Robynn is back inside the PWR ring. However, the comeback didn't have a good ending as despite her domination during the PWR Tag Team #1 Contendership Tournament, Robynn and tag team partner Martivo came up short. And in an episode of Aftershock, an irate Punk Doll slapped Dax Xaviera who happened to passed by the tag team and laughed on them.

And at the aftermath, PWR announced that Robynn will be taking on the Dax Xaviera for the All Out War Championship. Can Robynn shake loose from a screeching halt of her comeback and take AWO-rora away from PWR's craziest and most dangerous man at the end of this all out war match?

Aside from Eric Walker, another international wrestling star will make its PWR Debut on Path of Gold: Masa Takanashi. From Japan's Dramatic Dream Team promotion. The former KO-D Openweight Champion and former two-time DDT Extreme Division Champion will bring his brand of Japanese professional wrestling to PWR shores. Who will respond to the challenge? No other than

Meanwhile, some matches were added to the card, and these involve four women. First, the saga between Jaye Sera and Jhemherlhynn continues come Path Of Gold. But will this sccufle mark the end of this rivalry?

And another clash of the race taking place featuring two of the hottest female wrestlers in the continent. Emi Sakura, Japan's legendary joshi wrestler and multi-time women's champion, will take on Queen of Philippine Wrestling, Crystal, who has made her mark both from this promotion and abroad.

Who will retain their respective championships and who will end up dethroning another? Who will become a standout in a series of PWR-vs.-International matches? And moreover, who's that one person that will defeat 19 others and slug his/her way to the country's biggest wrestling show of the year?

Watch PWR: Path of Gold and witness these wrestling stars carve their own path as Wrevolution X season is about to unfold on Sunday, 17 March 2019 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati, Makati City.  Gates open by early afternoon. Bell rings at 2:00PM.
