Truefaith to launch the '80s and deepfake-driven Uwian Na music video this Friday!

10/01/2019 01:06:51 AM

Truefaith will launch its newest music video for their latest single Uwian Na this Friday at 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub.

The 26-year strong pop-rock band from Manila continues on making new music by releasing their 10th studio album “sen+imen+al” in 2018 to conclude its wave of newly-minted originals, including previously released singles: The Rain, Consolations for a FoolAko at si Michael, and Kahit Na.

Hailed by their listeners as their favorite song in the album, Uwian Na was launched last year in time for preparations for the band's 25th-anniversary concert that was held at the Music Museum. Truefaith's latest single was penned by its vocalist Medwin Marfil as it aims to be a “good vibes provider” – a grooving approach in recapturing memorable moments in the past.

Its visual counterpart is set to re-showcase the glory of the famous entertainment program in the 1980s “See True,” with  Miel Cabañez portraying the late Lourdes Carvajal, more known as the iconic showbiz host Inday Badiday. Directed by Adrian Arcega, the Uwian Na music video also features acting performances of veteran actors Rey PJ Abellana, Ricky Davao and actress Yayo Aguila.

Aside from the star-studded casting, Uwian Na is set to be the first music video in the country to use face-swapping technology – more known as “deepfaking.” Known as one of the advances that are currently sweeping the internet today, deepfaking is the process where an actor's face is superimposed onto another person using artificial intelligence-based technology.

The launch of Uwian Na will be Truefaith's first special launching event since releasing the music video of the album's first carrier single Paano Ka Magiging Akin in 2016.

Join the gang of Medwin, Eugene, Allan, Jake, Macky, and Kaka as they launch the music video this Friday (4 October 2019) at 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub in El Pueblo, Ortigas, Pasig City. Cyberwave band Stereodeal will open the show. Copies of the album sen+imen+al will also be available for only 200 pesos. ADMISSION IS ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Truefaith is a six-man pop-rock band from Manila, Philippines, comprises of Medwin Marfil (vocals), Eugene Marfil (acoustic guitar), Allan Elgar (electric guitar), Macky Macaventa (bass guitar), Jake Lumacad (keyboards), and Kaka Quisimbing (drums).
