PWR kicks off 2020 with the fiesta-ish "Mabuhay Ang Wrestling" event!

01/22/2020 12:05:58 PM

2019 has been a wonderful year for Philippine Wrestling Revolution with groundbreaking movements, and very interesting bookings that result into a series of nerve-wracking shows that are full of highlight reels, iconic stars, historical milestones, and entertaining stories. Hence, being an epitome to its #NeverMissAShow battlecry.

This wrestling promotion, however, aims to continue where they left off as PWR will stage its first show of the year – and the decade as well – this Sunday at Power Mac Spotlight.

PWR's first event called Mabuhay Ang Wrestling will be like a welcome fiesta for wrestling aficionados, especially those who followed the local scene. Sunday's special show will feature a three-way dance for the biggest prize, the last man standing bout, an open challenge, a bunch of singles and tag team matches, and more party favors.

Championship Fireworks

Past meets present once again – and it comes in twos; as Chris Panzer will defend his PWR Championship against its previous title-holder QUATRO; and his long aged-rival/the man he betrayed for his championship agenda, Ken Warren.

Will the Light Bringer shine to kickstart 2020? Will one of the PWOGs finally be the Kampeon Ng Pilipinas? Or will the Panzermonyo reign continue after Sunday?

Last Man Standing

Vlad Sinnsyk and Chino Guinto will embark on a fight like no other as the Philippine Excellence Championship will be contested in the “Matira Matibay” match. The Blessed One involved his rematch clause after losing the title in the previous PWR event.

No pinfalls, no submissions, no mercy! It seems like there's a first Vendetta-ish match to settle this bloody dispute, eh?

More Party Favors

With the Mr. Sy Group of Talents (MSG) terrorizing PWR to get more gold on their hands, Mr. Philippine Wrestling’s interesting #PWOGs recruitment drive, the Naughty Boys’ bizarre adventures, more matches are set to be scheduled for PWR’s first outing of the decade!

Interesting to see not just the usual PWR championship bouts taking place in this special; but also two other international title matches taking place. For instance, Martivo will challenge current two-title holder Crystal for the MyPW WrestleCon Championship. Meanwhile, Carlos Zamora will defend his DPW Heavyweight title against The Walking Death, Mike Madrigal.

In a series of accounts for this Sunday, Jake De Leon will put Jaye Cera on a litmus test – the first intergender 1-v-1 wrestling contest for the year. Meanwhile, Kapitan Tutan will once again launch his Wrestling Ang Iniisip Ko challenge; Evan Carleaux will face John Sebastian; and another international wrestling star, Sunny Zhai from SUPERKICKD, will be in action

GrabCamus will have his first singles championship match, and it will be against Jan Evander for the All Out War Championship match. MSG, on the other hand, will challenge Kakaibros once again for the PWR Tag Team Championship match -- with an interesting twist of having Mr. Sy as the special guest referee. In the other tag team matches, the YOLO Teams will square off against the tandem of Dax Xaviera and Gatilyo; and the reunited MTNH will clash against The Naughty Boys.

Aside from a stacked card, PWR also offers the special Mabuhay Ang Wrestling bundle – comprises of an event ticket and t-shirt – for just PhP 850! Award-winning Filipino illustrator Rob Cham lends his artistic view on the best of Philippine Wrestling with a limited-edition Mabuhay Ang Wrestling tee! The said shirt will also be available at the venue for just PhP 600.

PWR Mabuhay Ang Wrestling will emanate from the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati, Makati City this Sunday, 26 January 2020. Bell tolls at 2:00PM.

Tickets are available at bit.ly/PWRMabuhayAngWrestling. Early bird tickets are available at PhP 399 each or in barkada bundles of three (3) tickets for PhP 1,099. Regularly priced tickets will still be available at the venue for PhP 450 each. Tickets can also be purchased through the PWR Facebook page, via pwr.tickets@gmail.com, and official PWR retail partners.
