11/27/2020 06:36:40 PM

Precious Pages Corp. will host the first-ever Precious Page Bookfest this December.

For three days – or from 4-6 December 2020, the book fest is the company's part of its continuing efforts to produce and publish stories for all Filipinos as well as recognizing the reality that despite the presence of so many types of entertainment and other distractions, Filipinos still enjoy the experience of reading.

When asked why PPC chose to call the event a book fest, founder Segundo Matias, Jr. said that it’s because this event is not just about selling books, more importantly, Precious Pages Bookfest is also about promoting reading, specifically reading progressive and impactful books.

The first Precious Pages book fest will offer r discounts on all its available books, while free online webinars and workshops will be taking place and it features some of the bestselling authors and writers under PPC’s various brands.

Two webinars, “Pagsulat ng Tungkol sa Coronavirus” and “Pagsasalaysay ng mga Kuwentong-bayan,” will be presented by Eugene Y. Evasco, author of a number of coronavirus-themed books and translator of the widely popular book “Si Dr. Li at ang Nakakoronang Virus.” Genaro R. Gojo Cruz, author of the viral and bestselling book “Ako ay may Titi,” will present the webinar “Ang Pagsulat ng mga Sensitibong Paksa Para sa mga Bata.” Illustrators Mike Banting, Regine Lim, and Alvin Bragais of PPC’s BlackInk Comics will show webinar participants how to draw manga.

Meanwhile, the online workshops during the PPC Bookfest will focus more on how to write popular literature with the following themes: romance fiction, erotic fiction, and Pinoy BL. During the workshop, PPC’s senior editors and brand managers, Edith Garcia, Abet Cruz, and Toni Velasco will be joined by bestselling writers Rose Tan, CD De Guzman, Sonia Francesca, Alexandra Javier, Maki De Luna, Race Darwin, C.C., Albert Lang, and Leonna.
