Author's Note: Fete de la Musique may go on virtual once again, but it doesn't stop the world from talking about it. Twitter has launched a campaign across the region with musicians performing live on microblogging's new audio-only feature called Twitter Spaces.

All that and more in this press release below.

Twitter is where communities form and thrive, where people gather to have conversations with others with common interests and passions, and to find out #WhatsHappening. From sports to entertainment, culture to current affairs, Twitter is where like-minded creators and fans can stay connected, no matter which part of the world they are in.

Music is a unifying force and one of the most powerful communities on Twitter. From K-pop, Rock, Country, to Jazz, EDM, or Classical music, there is a community for everyone. Even local musicians and songwriters have found their place on Twitter where they can share their work and engage with their fans. Mentions of ‘local music’ or ‘local DJs’ across Southeast Asia were up 65% (Jan-May 2020 VS Jane-May 2021), demonstrating the vibrant music community on Twitter.

In celebration of World Music Day on 21 June 2021, Twitter is launching #TweetYourMusic campaign to highlight local musicians across Southeast Asia. #TweetYourMusic will celebrate local musicians, their journey, and the fans that support them with a series of fun and creative activities on Twitter. Across Southeast Asia; different fan bases will have the opportunity to participate in daily music trivia through Twitter Polls, and get to hear some of their local musicians perform live on Twitter Spaces.

Stay tuned to #TweetYourMusic this World Music Day and participate in the fun activities we have planned. To join in the conversation, follow us @TwitterPH
