They were once hailed part of the band explosion during the 2000s – with some of them even making music during the '90s. But more than just being nostalgic acts, six ladies would come together as a 'supergroup' for a one-night concert that will take place this November.
Singer-songwriters Acel Bisa, Aia de Leon, Barbie Almalbis, Hannah Romawac, Kitchie Nadal and Lougee Basabas were already known for their contributions – some of the iconic songs that defined OPM during the last two decades. And on 26 November, at the height of one of eventful dates of the latter part of 2022, they will collaborate of Tanaw, a joint concert produced by GNN Entertainment, at the Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City.
From what has been just a simpleng kamustahan from their daily lives, these legendary musicians eventually planted a seed that would be considered one of the nights to remember in the country's music scene this year after connecting with the event producers for a rare special occassion.
And that's not all, expect the evening to be just another “for old time's sake” show as these six notable music personalities to showcase a rare performance of a lifetime.
“It’s going to be a surprise, but let’s just say that we’re forming a group for a one-night-only performance that will surely delight music fans,” Barbie Almalbis said in a press statement.
Aia De Leon, once known for fronting Imago, claims TANAW will also be presented as a celebration of meaningful friendships and solidarity.
“There is no other group of people who will have understood the fullness of my life, in every aspect, except for these ladies. We grew up in an era together, we paid our dues together. We share a profound joy making music, writing songs, and performing them in front of a live audience. We've never braved a celebration in this scale together before, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this.”
Kitchie Nadal, on the other hand, said she will launch her new single during the concert itself.
Aia, Barbie, and Kitchie, were known for Secrets, a series of concerts held on 2016 and 2017 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City. This time around, the three singer-songwriters will be joined by fellow musician whom were popular during their same era: Acel has been part of the Moonstar88 band that became popular in the early 2000s with the hits Torete and Sulat; Hannah is the frontwoman for the Baguio City-based sessiOnroad band that made waves during the decade through songs Suntok Sa Buwan, Cool Off, and Leaving You; and Lougee – who were once one of the hosts of variety TV show Eat Bulaga – became the voice of Mojofly since 2003, a role that was first filled by Kitchie Nadal five years prior.
The one-night show TANAW is produced by GNN Entertainment, and co-presented by Solaire Resort Entertainment City with valuable support by Official Glam Partner, David’s Salon and minor sponsors Payaba Flower Boutique and United Graphic. Tickets TANAW are available online via Ticket World and its partner outlets nationwide.
