Newsletter: Smart boosts 7-Eleven’s Fun Run 2023 to promote a healthier lifestyle for Filipinos

[THIS IS A PRESS RELEASE]

PLDT’s wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is supporting the 7-Eleven Run 2023 happening on February 5 in Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

This marks the second year of the return of the physical run event, after two years of virtual runs during the lockdown. Thousands of participants are expected to enter the race to get a chance to take home cool swag from various sponsors.

“We are excited to be a part of Run 7-Eleven once again. Smart has been supporting this fun run for six years, and our partnership with 7-Eleven has enabled us to promote an active lifestyle to our customers, especially now that health and wellness have become very important to all,” said Chito M. Franco III, VP and Head of National Key Accounts & Partnerships at PLDT and Smart.

“Aside from enabling our customers to follow their interests and passions with the fastest mobile network, this event expresses our support for our partners’ activities that help people regain a sense of normalcy. This of course, entails the responsibility of the participants to ensure that they are fully vaccinated and in top form to guarantee the success of this activity,” Franco added.

“It is important for us to promote health and wellness, now, more than ever, and we are happy to have Smart’s consistent support for the 7-Eleven Run series throughout the years,” said Jose C. Ang, Jr., General Merchandise Head & Managing Director for Digital at Philippine Seven Corp, the local franchisor of 7-Eleven.

Smart’s support for the 7-Eleven Run 2023 also underscores PLDT’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainability Development Goal number 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.
