It's been a very long while since I blogged about the music shows I've been into. And frankly, I've been trying to get back into writing for my own site since I felt I've lost the art of doing so. Strange for someone who's bread and butter in the majority of his corporate life involves writing, right?
Alas, here I am, and I'm thankful for GMA Music for getting me to cover most of their events this year. With one of them being at my newest favorite bar, Unknown13 Pub, as their alternative-rock sub-label AltG Records kicked off the Summer Music Vibes Bar Tour on a first Friday night of the month. The scene featured a night of starts for most of the names involved during this chill-vibin' bar gig in Katipunan.
This event also marked the debut gig of AltG's newest signed talents, Plume and Sala. The timing may be perfect for these two artists as the Baguio-based singer-songwriter just released his first single under the label – the enchanting track titled 'Beautiful'; while the newly-minted alt-rock group is set to release their first song under the same record label – the societal pressure-written “Hi, Tita!” – on 15 March.
They weren't also the highlighted ones during the evening, though, as three other AltG talents performed during the evening, too. Namely, the JaPinoy pop-rock sensations SkyGarden, which released their second single “Historia” earlier this year; Abby Clutario, who was fresh from the heels of releasing her 5-track debut album called “Lambing” a couple of weeks ago; and the nearly two-decade strong alternative-rock act Wickermoss capping the night as it kicked off the weekend.
Everyone was definitely in for a treat at that time with the new musical offerings AltG Records have presented to the fans and press. The summer vibe of their music doesn't stop here, though, as the GMA Music's subsidiary record label stops by Balcony Music House in Makati City later this month for the second leg of their bar tour.
