Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines starts tomorrow, 16 August, with the opener between Smart Omega (OMG) and TNC Pro Team (TNC). All eyes are on TNC's former analyst turned coach Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto's historic coaching and how he can help the team move up from the bottom of the standings. Is his analytics-driven approach enough to help the Phoenix rise from the ashes?

On the other hand, Smart Omega, a team that has already begun their redemption arc since last season, will be led by star player Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog who proved that he still got it, after their almost-miracle run last season. Watch the action unfold on Friday at 5 pm.

The Star Match of the Week follows at 7:30 pm, and it features Blacklist International (BLCK) with a newly-revamped roster, and Aurora (RORA) that will make a debut in MPL PH this season. From the shadows to the northern lights, it is a battle between dark and light, and the new and the old.

Codebreakers' new-look lineup features EXP laner Dlar and jungler MP the King leading the squad after their overseas stints in Indonesia and Cambodia, respectively. They will battle it out against RORA's star players Edward and Demonkite.

Meanwhile, veteran roamer Hadji mans the Mid Lane once more to meet his former teammate Yue in what seems to be a reunion between the master and the student. In a pre-season interview, Hadji said he would easily win against Yue should they meet in the Land of Dawn. See below some interesting facts about the players competing in the star match:

- Edward shared that he’s been planning to leave BLCK for a while and even considered going to FNOC, but didn’t want to ruin their chemistry.  - On the other hand, Coach Bon Chan believes that Dlar still has it after watching his performance in an international tournament held earlier this year - Both EXP laners go back to the grand finals of MPL-PH Season 8 to M3 stretch. Edward’s currently up against Dlar on both occasions.	- The student meets the master. After one season of playing as a roamer, Hadji mans the mid lane once more to meet his former teammate Yue. - Hadji claims that this match versus RORA will serve as BLCK’s benchmark for the season - In a pre-season interview, Hadji said that he'd win against Yue should they meet at that time	- MP The King marks his MPL-PH return with BLCK. He has already been in talks with the team since S11, and the deal was only realized this season. - After spending his entire career under RSG’s organization, Demonkite branched out of his comfort zone to play in RORA.
