Newsletter: PRINTING AND GARMENTS CONVENTION ‘PROJECT CULTURE’ AIMS TO EMPOWER LOCAL INDUSTRY

To promote a movement dedicated to advancing the local clothing line scene, fostering artistic expression, and empowering Filipino entrepreneurs, printing company Tees&Prints will be organizing its annual textile and garments convention titled PROJECT CULTURE. Happening on August 24 at Metrotent, Pasig City at 3PM. 

This year Project Culture aims to inspire, educate, and elevate the streetwear and local art culture to stem. The event will provide creative avenues by organizing engaging workshops and interactive talks to broaden knowledge with business and technology. To further and have an immersive experience, we will also have an exhibit of print technology. 

Setting the spotlight to our homegrown talents, PROJECT CULTURE will feature upcoming artists with a  fashion show, print and design contests, and provide valuable business to business networking opportunities for attendees. 

Project Culture also partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) to launch the Philippine Textile-Garment Industry Roadmap for 2020-2029, which aims to evaluate previous performance and present conditions of fashion and textile industries in both local and international settings. A tool to also determine the challenges to provide ways forward in the fabric industry. 

This in-depth plan is backed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), which will introduce the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-SETUP) designed to provide a vigorous support system for the businesses in the garment-textile sector.

To top it all, the convention will also have performances by artists from a mix of genres featuring The Jerks, Moro Beats, Brownman Revival, Bird., and BAD WAVE.

Project Culture is a joint effort in partnership with Tees&Prints, the Department of Trade and Industry, Epson,and the Department of Science and Technology.
