Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest internation outdoor music and arts festival, served up a second consecutive day of world-class entertainment at Central Harbourfront on Saturday, 30 NOV, with an eclectic lineup of top international, regional and local acts performing across six stages, plus an array of family activities, eye-popping art and unique experiences.
British rap sensation Central Cee topped the bill on the Harbourflap Stage, where he served up a thrilling headline set to delight hip-hop fans. Other Saturday highlights on the festival’s main stage included art-rock innovator St. Vincent, genre-blending vocalist Banks, mesmerising Japanese girl group Sakurazaka46 and Hong Kong supergroup R.O.O.T.
Fans also flocked to the Hang Seng Stage, where the diverse lineup included headline set by British indie legends Suede, fêted local singer-songwriter Serrini and LA dream pop act Fiji Blue, while the Park Stage by Martell saw memorable performances by local shoegaze heroes Lucid Express, Australian indie outfit La Dinosaurs, Japanese indie-pop band Cody・Lee(李) and London dance-punk dynamos Fat Dog. At the Electriq Stage, electronic music fans danced non-stop to top international acts such as Australian ghetto house hellraiser Partiboi69.
As well as the music, there was also a full programme of arts attractions, including the spectacular Hello Hong Kong Balloon Chain and a selection of experimental animation films courtesy of Relentless Melt No. 36, plus family-friendly interactive activities from Children’s Discovery Museum and puppet-based performance by The Butterfly Ball among others.
