Talk about a holiday flashback. We go back to four years ago. It was the first of December 2012 at the branch of National Book Store in Shangri-la Mall in Mandaluyong City as Stanley Chi launched his book that set himself apart from being the Suplado guy we know.

Lessons From A Knockout Loss

11/24/2013 1:45:59 AM

Tinaguriang “biggest upset of the year” ang knockout win ni JuanMa kay Pacman.

Playback: The Darkness – Everybody Have A Good Time

10:01:48 AM | 5/5/2013 | Sunday

Let’s take a trip back to the memory lane, let’s say about 11 months ago.

I’m not an avid fan of the Darkness. But I like few of their songs, especially when “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” penetrated the airwaves of the radio stations here in the country way back 2004.

I wonder though why they were silent after their One Way Ticket to Hell and Back almost 7 or 8 years ago. Or is it me who failed to dig the shores of YouTube to look for these asses?

The Adventures: Torrijos, Marinduque

3:06:02 PM | 4/11/2013 | Thursday

This lady should deserve and award for this year. Like one of the best women personalities for the year 2012. No kidding.

You know, I’d rather hear her fiery statements than that of the other ladies who can blurted out the shit on-camera (like Mommy D’s rants when her son Manny Pacquiao lost against his Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez). Not because she is an educated or too vocal, but because she speaks with sense. Somehow, improving than what she may be before.

Patutsada

SONA 2012

Not to mention, ang kailangan daw baguhin, ang “forgive and forget” mentality.

Akala ko ba the public has the right to know?

Pero para sa akin, he’s still doing a good job at least. Tama yan.

MIAMI Heat on total redemption.

One of the most scrutinized teams in the past 2 years; the Miami Heat made all the way to the NBA finals and nailed a championship.

They were barely criticized when they landed LeBron James and Chris Bosh to the South Florida squad join their draft-mate superstar Dwyane Wade, and still failed to manage to take home the championship then after losing to their once-upon-a-finale-rival Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA finals.

Everything has changed then. They faced their finals opponent on their very first NBA regular assignment on Christmas day and won over them. It’s not just a revenge spelling on their acts anymore then, it started a circus run. Going up and down of the first four spots of the Eastern conference and eventually finished at the second spot prior to the post season party.

23 June 2012

Lebron nails it. Now what?

This is it. LeBron James finally got his own ring! After that triple double and an insane 3rd quarter run, the MIAMI HEAT were crowned the 2012 National Basketball Association champions. Thanks to that tune of 121-106 score after those 48 minutes in Game #5 of the NBA finals.

Well, let me guess what are those critics and haters of the 3-time MVP will tell. He won MVP and finals MVP.

Thunder on a surprise run?

Well, not totally.
The HEAT is on once again for the Miami and Thunder will strike again for the Oklahoma City squad as the stage is set for the National Basketball Association finals game 1 today Manila time.

The Western Conference has been the home of the powerhouse ball clubs lately, and one of them is the Oklahoma City Thunder whom had been a major force to reckon since they almost surprise the Dallas Mavericks on their battle fro supremacy, which they had lost, by the way.

The Thunder had won 47 games in a shortened 66-game season, enough for the second spot in the Western Conference, plus a major addition to its roster – a big shot maker in a bulky point guard named Derek Fisher.

Almost a numbers’ game.

Here I go again. I just noticed something about the NBA again. A part of me has been addicted to the sports’ statistics. Well, not totally though.

Well, the Oklahoma City Thunder had defeated the San Antonio Spurs in an incredible run. Look, the Spurs had won 20 straight games before losing the last 4 to the Thunder. It was almost a stunning run, coming out short of tying the Houston Rockets’ 22-game winning streak few years ago.

And asking about the Thunder’s finals appearance to the upcoming NBA Finals?

30 May 2012

Vintage.

Vintage.

I just can’t imagine how the San Antonio Spurs made another stunning run at the game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against a perennial contender named Oklahoma City Thunder.
They won 19 straight, something that is quite not familiar to the team that had been relying on the key veterans. Maybe experience helped them winning it.

I have to admit, when these two teams about to squared up in the said stage, I have to pick the younger Thunder squad over Spurs. Hmmm…. maybe because they can outrun the defensive team and not to mention, Kevin Durant scored in various and even mysterious ways. How many times have he nailed a game winner despite the outstretched arms of his opponent? How athletic can he be when he gets banged up in the air and still throws it down? Wow.

When a bull lost its rose.

Just a piece of observation on the series though I never witnessed everything game per game.

When Derrick Roses loses himself to injury at the very first game of the 2012 National Basketball Association Playoffs, it changed the fate of his team and the entire competition on the Eastern Conference.

Chicago Bulls was known for a championship contender before, especially when they had their MVP on their lineup. They even win games during the time he’s at sick bay though. But the fact that this is playoff time, the intensity level rises, players mature even and every one’s fighting at a higher risk.

2012 theory? That’s a fluke!

2012 theory? That’s a fluke!

I was personally disgusted by the way news had make its own analysis on what happened during the first few weeks of the year. Since flashfloods arouse around the Pacific area and also on American continent, many people would have wondered if either (1) it’s a sign of climate change; or (2) the coming of the end of the world? However, most people tends to think even more negative will had the second answer as their thought, especially of the fact that 2012 had shown a few months after a series of storms ravaged the Northern part of the Philippines in 2009.

Well, I used to remember reading that type of topic in one of my friend’s site in Multiply, relating to the Mayan Calendar stating that at December 20, 2012, there will be a huge disaster that can spell doom for the planet Earth. At first, I was scared, thinking that “man, is this for real??!” however, it also came to my mind that when it talks about judgment day, it is only God who knows when to do so and no other creature does.

So there is allegation of possibility that the disasters occurred during the last 18 months could be a sign of the end of the world or they called it as “2012 theory.”

HOWEVER, I STRONGLY OPPOSED TO THAT IDEA.

‘Cause people hearing that kind of news could be either stunned at disbelief, or will go panicking. After all, media had plays the role of manipulating the minds of society. If people can think otherwise, maybe they will realize that there is a lesson on watching 2012 than just believing on what they saw. Another thing is that people will took it the other way (or from negative to positive) and making changes in helping themselves, the society and the environment as well.

I mean let’s just face it and think wisely. Whatever catastrophe’s occurred in the world right now is clearly not the sign of the end. It’s just the fact that the climate on the world we are living in to now, is changing. We can slow down the process of it if we want to. And that can be by means of taking care of our environment.
