The Pre-Take: WWE WrestleMania 35 (Part 3)

04/06/2019 03:32:22 PM

Sixteen matches for WrestleMania 35. Yes. 16. FREAKIN'. MATCHES. Yes, as if 14 weren't enough for a 7-hour wrestling sports entertainment show, right?

And they are back in a similar location – the one they held in 2013. It's strange because its development counterpart was named NXT TakeOver New York and not Brooklyn V. Same fate as Orlando and New Orleans on the recent years.

Is it worthy to put my predictions here? Probably yes and probably no. But anyway, since I have been writing this shit as of now, let's do this pre-take.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Royal Rumble 2018

For the first time since 2141286418 years, we have probably seen a best product from the World Wrestling Entertainment. Hell, this edition of Royal Rumble delivered well, and in my opinion, just next to WrestleMania XXX in 2014.

We have nine matches slated in a somewhat 6-hour and 15-minute affair that has sent few people in either their respective homes or that viewing party at Skinny Mike's in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig  as Royal Rumble has become the first wrestling affair (in case they didn't attend PWR's first 2018 gig).

The Pre-take: WWE SummerSlam 2017 (Part 2)

We may have been hours away from witnessing the second's biggest WWE pay-per-view event, the one they called “the biggest party of the summer,” and coinciding with an all-heavy music fetsival in the Philippines.

The 31st edition of SummerSlam is poised to take off on Sunday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (Monday morning Philippine time), their third-straight tiume in staging the event at the said venue.  And for over the decade, SummerSlam were only situated in two venues: Barclays Center and Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Rundown Slam: WrestleMania 33 (Part 2)

04/09/2017 09:33:10 PM

WrestleMania kicked off with the New Day, and it was really nothing spectacular, just except from the fact that they don a Final Fantasy-inspired get-up; perhaps relating to their theme which is The Ultimate Thrill Ride. And a with potential five-hour thriller? It's not that hard to see why.

The Pre-Take: WWE WrestleMania 33

John Cena and Nikki Bella versus The Miz and Maryse might be one of the best things that will take olace at WrestleMania. At least that saved me from having some pre-event's disdains as a wrestling fan.

While things were quite obvious to be pointing in that direction even during his days of being the 16th time World Champion, it seems that Cena and his real-life girlfriend were planned to engage in an altercation with Mike Mizanin and his wife. Both sports-entertainers (we mean wrestlers) and entertainers at their very own respective rights.

The Rundown Slam: WWE TLC 2016

12/13/2016 10:42:47 PM

It is SmackDown's last hurrah to woo the competition for 2016 as we look forward to the Royal Rumble season afterwards. This is the World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) own version of what they called Demolition Derby called TLC – Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.

The Pre-take: WWE TLC 2016

It's that time of the year where Christmas is served here at WWE the barbaric way – as similar to what they called Demolition Derby. Though there is a Roadblock PPV after this one, let's say this is SmackDown's last chance to end the year with a bang as the blue-branded program will stage their exclusive event called TLC – that is Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, ladies and gentlemen.

Six matches were about to be slated in the special.

The Rundown Slam: WWE No Mercy

10/15/2016 02:19:24 AM

It's kinda strange to see the order of how things took place at Sacramento, California, during the staging of the WWE's second Smackdown Live-exclusive pay-per-view event called WWE No Mercy. They kicked off with a main event and end the night with a supposedly-main event show but seemingly not enough to be tagged as one.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Backlash 2016

09/18/2016 06:40:14 PM

I must say SmackDown Live has been topping the competition wars against Monday Night RAW here in this new era of the WWE so far. At least, for now; unless Clash of Champions will pull off a monumental run this coming Sunday.

Look: their first pay-per-view called Backlash may have run a bit longer than the usual set-up (which is 3 hours long), but the show is packed like SummerSlam to say the least. The arrangement of cards were solid from start to finish. The story lines behind them were crafted well (not that very well but at least way better than their RAW rival).

And before we put the verdict into the entirety, let's take the rundown.

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2016 (Part 3)

I think the SummerSlam main event came too early when John Cena wrestled AJ Styles. Just too bad if you're a fan of the former, the SS losing skid continues for the Cenation leader. And I think he had done a great job of raising Styles' stock much further.

The Pre-take: WWE SummerSlam 2016 (Part 1)

Looks like the World Wrestling Entertainment has been really serious in building SummerSlam as its second biggest show of the year, eh? Look at this: 13 matches in all, with ten of them happening at the four-hour main broadcast. Three main event matches: one that has been hyped despite controversies, and two title matches representing RAW and SmackDown brands.

Hey, it's even bigger than WrestleMania 32. And expect the live venue crowd's not large in numbers since it will be slated at the Barclays Center though we hope they will roll on a different stage design unlike the so-totally-generic ones they had for the past two years.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Money In The Bank 2016

06/22/2016 01:02:31 PM

It was a blockbuster Sunday night at the United States as the world of sports and entertainment had put up a massive heavyweight treats (and it actually came in threes) in time for Father's Day. People worldwide had been waiting for a new episode of Game Of Thrones, while at the Bay Area and Ohio, thousands witnessed the culminating game 7 of an epic finale showdown between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

And here at Las Vegas, professional wrestling gambled all in for the World Wrestling Entertainment's annual special event known as the Money In The Bank.

WWE Back in Manila?!

05/25/2016 09:02:10 AM

So, how true that after quite a long while, the World Wrestling Entertainment will hit by the country once again?

If you remember the RAW and Survivor Series tour in 2006, the SmackDown & ECW pit stop in 2009, and even those old tours in Cuneta Astrodome and Cebu in the past decades, then you might not miss to see the new breed of superstars at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Rundown Slam: WrestleMania 32 (Part 1)

Texas Monthly
It’s April once again. We have reach a year of wrestling. And for the 32nd time, we have reached the culmination of those machismo folklore. One will defend himself against an emerging Goliath. Another will end oppression. Someone will have his taste of medicine, while the other is going to fight for legacy. One will fall and one will rise, especially when a tyrant clashes with an underdog, albeit the heir apparent status.

After seven years, the Show of Shows is back at Texas, with a similarly simple set-up in front of the oceanic crowd. The stage was set at Arlington, Texas. 101,763 people were inside Arlington, Texas. 12 cards were slated on a 6-hour, 45-minute Sunday program we more knew as WrestleMania.

The Pre-take: WrestleMania 32

AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho. As much as I admire the first part of their rivalry, unfortunately not when they reignited that one. We all knew Y2J was heel already when they clashed with each other before WWE FastLane, right? That being said, we may have been clearly distinguished who’s who; But should this one happened too soon? They just failed to dethrone The New Day once after three tries as Y2AJ? Fuck.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Fastlane 2016

It;s the last pay-per-view event before WrestleMania. A pit stop bridging the Royal Rumble and the Show of Shows. However, this are speeding up as stories went full-throttle as we approach the first Sunday of April.

The stage is set on downtown Cleveland, but this ain’t the LeBron James show where he will take flight on the fastbreak.
