The Best and Worst WrestleMania Moments in the Last 10 Years (Part 1 of 2)

I have been following professional wrestling (although not in a very religious way) since 2012. I have seen WrestleMania during Holy Tuesday of the said year; and it has been a yearly thing for me to watch the show, be it live, primetime replay, or on-demand. That said, it's fair to say I have watched WrestleMania for 12 consecutive years – and probably going on 13 by April 6-7 (or April 7-8 by the Philippine Standard Time).

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2021

09/05/2021 05:43:15 PM

It's now a love triangle-like affair between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, with Paul Heyman as the subject of the line. (Photo from WWE.com; obtained via Forbes)

WWE's biggest event of the summer just got bigger as they staged SummerSlam at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Some remarked SummerSlam has become even more significant than this year's WrestleMania (yes, despite the latter being a two-day event).

The Pre-Take: WWE WrestleMania 35 (Part 4: The Main Event)

04/06/2019 07:35:56 PM

Sixteen matches for WrestleMania 35. Yes. 16. FREAKIN'. MATCHES. Yes, as if 14 weren't enough for a 7-hour wrestling sports entertainment show, right?

And they are back in a similar location – the one they held in 2013. It's strange because its development counterpart was named NXT TakeOver New York and not Brooklyn V. Same fate as Orlando and New Orleans on the recent years.

Is it worthy to put my predictions here? Probably yes and probably no. But anyway, since I have been writing this shit as of now, let's do this pre-take.

Brock Who?

08/10/2018 11:51:29 AM

Brock Lesnar has been the WWE Universal Champion for nearly 500 days – or for already one year and nearly 5 months.

Now what? Well, he's already dethroned after SummerSlam, right? But imagine as if he wasn't yet.

We may have been hours away from witnessing the second's biggest WWE pay-per-view event, the one they called “the biggest party of the summer,” and coinciding with an all-heavy music fetsival in the Philippines.

The 31st edition of SummerSlam is poised to take off on Sunday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (Monday morning Philippine time), their third-straight tiume in staging the event at the said venue.  And for over the decade, SummerSlam were only situated in two venues: Barclays Center and Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Pandemonium

06/21/2017 02:11:33 PM

The past week saw Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe has been engaged in a monstrous brawl that has sent almost everyone to pacify the situation.

Hmmm, interesting eh?

The Rundown Slam: WrestleMania 33 (Part 4)

04/09/2017 10:38:52 PM

Just when we thought about of the WWE Championship as the main event of WrestleMania, we ended up on the wrong path again. They piloted the second half of this five-hour extravaganza with a supposedly-compelling storyline.

The Pre-Take: WWE WrestleMania 33 – Universal Championship Match

04/03/2017 12:56:53 AM

It was a lackluster ending in 2002. And I'm afraid that no matter how Paul Heyman may be totally-excellent in delivering his goods to promote the match, it might still end up a bummer.

One Night Stand Gone Naught

12/08/2016 03:35:59 PM

It is barely three weeks since we have last seen one of the shocking moments in WWE this year. Just when we thought of Seth Rollins' return, Zack Ryder's WrestleMania moment, AJ Styles's Royal Rumble cameo, or a double cross by Triple H as the top moments that had made us talking, we were wrong.

It was at the 20th of November, during the 30th annual Survivor Series, we had a main event that was shorter than what we even expect from those kickoff matches. Bill Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar not only in absolute dominating fashion, but in an instant as well.

Heck, not even a quarter of the time they hyped this shit at all.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Survivor Series 2016

12/04/2016 04:18:11 PM

Survivor Series has come big time as the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) celebrated the 30th year of the event's existence with three Survivor Series matches between the brands RAW and SmackDown Live.

Wrong Book(ing)!

10/26/2016 02:25:41 AM

Well, as we we saying in my previous blog post, we thought the hype invested in this feud will be a smooth road.

That was our prejudgment until someone screwed up; and certainly it wasn't any of Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, or Paul Heyman's fault. But not even the crowd inside Target Center, either.

Who's Last?!

10/26/2016 01:49:45 AM

I should've written this post a week ago, when the hype of a returning icon just came back. Perhaps as an answer to the challenge poised by the Beast Incarnate.

I have a bad feeling that Brock Lesnar is so over-rated already. Okay, not be over-rated, but over-sold by the WWE, especially when his "suplex city" gimmick has gone stale.

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2016 (Part 4)

08/29/2016 05:04:17 PM

It's funny that the 6-tag team match for the women's division of SmackDown took place after the WWE World Championship match. It served like another bathroom break for those observers. While on the other hand, that's actually shows that the women were given a chance. Hence, placing them at the top of the SmackDown cards for SummerSlam made it appear like another result of those #GiveDivasAChance tweets. (Well, sorry, make it #GiveSmackDownWomenAChance.)

Brock Lesnar and Rany Orton. Fifteen years in the making. And after their first ever tussle in that SmackDown episode, things have shifted to a higher new gear. Barely a decade after becoming the youngest champions in the WWE, here they are: one is a former heavyweight champ in both WWE and UFC, the one they called the most decorated athlete in combat sports history; and another one is a hardworking star veteran in the WWE, earning both the WWE and World Heavyweight titles for 12 times.

We all know what's about to go down late this month: Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton in WWE's second biggest party called SummerSlam. The announcement took place even before Lesnar hit the weighing scale for his one-time show-off at the Ultimate Fighting Championship against Mark hunt last July.

Haven't seen the entire RAW episode yet (so please, FOX, don't screw our viewing pleasure this upcoming Friday night, but this clip just made my day.

Back to the Octagon!

Perhaps we have seen this before. Like more 16 months in the making. Do you remember when this guy was on the verge of having his contract expired that his championship reign was already been booked with a period on it?

Clash of the Factions

So the New Day may have the best entrance tonight, but perhaps that will be their only consolation prize as they were thwarted by the League of Nations in one average show. Well, not really bad thing, but I’m quite sure this is not the best thing these two factions had got. Maybe the fact that tag team titles weren’t defended at Mania gives them a blow. Sad life.

The Pre-take: WrestleMania 32 - Clash of the Wild Ones

4/1/2016 11:35:51 PM

Eleven matches. Three in the pre-show, and three main eventers. Talk about having a numerous sets for a six-hour event called WrestleMania. One is for the championship, one is for the legacy... and another is for the uprising.
