The Punkin' Comeback

09/05/2021 06:23:34 PM

By the time I post this article, we probably had seen All Out. But I wouldn't comment on that match (at least, not yet). I'm more after this iconic moment.

More known as the legendary CM Punk, Phil Brooks has returned to professional wrestling for the first time in seven years—or sixteen, in his own opinion. We all know we last saw CM Punk in that squared circle stage during WWE Royal Rumble as a competitor and on WWE Backstage as one of the analyzing mouthpieces.

Surprising Explosives

(This is a late post.)

So, last week's a bunch of expletives. What the hell am I talking about? This year's traditional Survivor Series match was tagged as the potential match of the year with a lot of twists shown before, and during the contest itself.

Lookback: WrestleMania 29's Triple Main Event

3/15/2014 3:31:50 PM

It’s only few weeks before the wrestling’s biggest stage will take centerstage at the huge venue the Big Easy peeps known as the Superdome.

And much as I am expressing my dismay on my local TV channel for not airing the WWE’s flagship program RAW, the only thing I can do at the moment is to do a flashback review: and I am talking about the three huge main cards of the WWE WrestleMania 29 held at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey last year.

I remember, I used to be on the multi-tasking mode then when my ultimate-fave-but-now-defunct Studio 23 aired its Philippine telecast during that one fateful Wednesday night of April. I was working in front of my computer, and at the same time – was watching the 240-minute event (you do the math, please?) on my Cherry Mobile phone (yes, I’m proud to say that. U mad?). At that time, I was a team leader in my graveyard shift (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) which did not really had much problem with me.

And what more can I say? Aside from those 80,676 patrons from East Rutherford whom witnessed this event, which is considered as the second largest all-time Wrestlemania event in terms of attendance?

But only three things really stuck my mind. What are those?

The Punk’s Revenge

11/4/2013 8:19:25 PM

I think he just got his revenge.

And this time around, vengeance came in full force.

I’m talking about Paul Heyman’s eventual defeat over the Best in the World CM Punk.

How did that happened?

Punk's Got Punked

9/21/2013 3:29:14 PM

I know. I’ve hated CM Punk for disrespecting the Undertaker’s man weeks before their over-hyped Wrestlemania match at New York.

But heck, he’s on the underdog side this time around. I mean the real “underdog” state of mind. He dueled up against the intercontinental champion Curtis Axel and his former friend Paul Heyman.

The Rundown Slam: Disrespect (WrestleMania 29)

Inside the mind of a not-so-avid-follower of WWE.

This was actually the second straight year that I watched the World Wrestling Entertainment's flagship event called  Wrestlemania. Give Studio 23 a credit for airing that. I have seen a number of televised wrestling shows during my childhood, and thankfully now I can be able to watch everything again no matter how "brutally scripted" that may be.

But anyway I will not give my take on all the other matches unless I want to watch it again (though there are video streaming sites such as YouTube and Dailymotion, I still prefer to have it on TV instead). I’ll give the emphasis on the huge matches set on the said event.

Punked Big Time.

Hmm... wrestling nowadays may be brutally scripted to the eyes of some spectators. However, it's fun to watch though.

I am not a huge fan of wrestling, and I know CM Punk is one of the good stars to play and entertain the sport nowadays.

However, I did not like him much after that one match against The Rock during that finale part of the Royal Rumble event 2013. I used to remember watching that clash at 2 in the morning at the local channel here, only to end up getting emotional on that matter, and that includes throwing punches in the air after witnessing the final decision.
