The Best and Worst WrestleMania Moments in the Last 10 Years (Part 1 of 2)

I have been following professional wrestling (although not in a very religious way) since 2012. I have seen WrestleMania during Holy Tuesday of the said year; and it has been a yearly thing for me to watch the show, be it live, primetime replay, or on-demand. That said, it's fair to say I have watched WrestleMania for 12 consecutive years – and probably going on 13 by April 6-7 (or April 7-8 by the Philippine Standard Time).

The Rundown Slam: WWE Roadblock End Of The Line

12/30/2016 02:53:10 PM

The World Wrestling Entertainment got their specials boosted up as they end the year with a RAW-exclusive pay per view (PPV) gig called Roadblock: End Of The Line. And frankly, it wasn't a bad show to culminate WWE's run this 2016.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Hell In A Cell 2016

11/08/2016 04:59:44 PM

We got triple main event matches that make this RAW-exclusive PPV as historically big as it gets. And why not? They were staging the 2016 edition of WWE's Hell In A Cell at the epic TD Garden in Boston, the place where the dominating Boston Celtics lives on.

But is it really epic or just plain dragging, considering the entire program lasted for five freaking hours; almost equalizing SummerSlam for that matter. They had an hour for the pre-show, 3 hours and 16 minutes for the main program and around 43 minutes for the fallout-like RAW Talk. While the programming has been making drastic changes (thanks to the WWE Network), five hours of wrestling in a Sunday can be really dragging, unless it's WrestleMania time.

Anyway, let's just slam the rundown, shall we?

The Rundown Slam: WWE Clash of Champions

10/07/2016 12:52:09 AM

WWE Monday Night RAW unleashed their first brand-only PPV of the new era, and despite the complications of the SmackDown having their own championships, the evening was still called Clash of Champions where all of the five RAW Championship will be contested.

This is the time where the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has put every belt on the line. And with the outcome of the brand extension, the Night of Champions was now renamed and became an exclusive pay-per-view property of the WWE's flagship program Monday Night RAW.

Dubbed as Clash of Champions, every RAW Championship will put at stake. Plus, more of the action from various storylines will also add spice for the evening come Sunday at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2016 (Part 2)

08/29/2016 03:25:32 PM

As we move to the main program, SummerSlam set looked like the production design of NXT TakeOver Brooklyn II – but on a bit of throwback, it appeared resemblances with of SummerSlam/WrestleMania 32 at the ramp, with bits of WrestleMania NY/NJ at the main LEDs (minus the landmark effigies) and WrestleMania XXX on its LED pattern at the wings.

Looks like the World Wrestling Entertainment has been really serious in building SummerSlam as its second biggest show of the year, eh? Look at this: 13 matches in all, with ten of them happening at the four-hour main broadcast. Three main event matches: one that has been hyped despite controversies, and two title matches representing RAW and SmackDown brands.

Hey, it's even bigger than WrestleMania 32. And expect the live venue crowd's not large in numbers since it will be slated at the Barclays Center though we hope they will roll on a different stage design unlike the so-totally-generic ones they had for the past two years.

Classic Catfight

08/02/2016 02:13:01 PM

I might be a week late. But I have seen this for thrice, and this should better be part of the best matches of the year. Why Not because I said so, but we haven't seen the best catfight for months. Perhaps the last time was during their stint at NXT (as much as I wanna count the ladder match at NXT TakeOver: Respect, I personally haven't seen it yet).

The WWE has been on the verge of taking things into even greater heights as the brand extension have taken place, with superstars getting split into teams of RAW and SmackDown, and the latter show moving into Tuesdays and will be airing LIVE.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Extreme Rules 2016

It's about time the World Wrestling Entertainment has gone beyond control. Talk about revolutionary where the underdogs stepped its way to revelry. Where an emerging club dares to take down the bloodline of the top empire. Where a reckoned force gets its way back domination. This is when the WWE gets extreme, and it's literally called Extreme Rules.

But did the WWE Extreme Rules 2016 paid extremely well as the second pay-per-view of the new era?

WWE Back in Manila?!

05/25/2016 09:02:10 AM

So, how true that after quite a long while, the World Wrestling Entertainment will hit by the country once again?

If you remember the RAW and Survivor Series tour in 2006, the SmackDown & ECW pit stop in 2009, and even those old tours in Cuneta Astrodome and Cebu in the past decades, then you might not miss to see the new breed of superstars at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Payback 2016

05/15/2016 11:30:42 AM

WWE
The post-WrestleMania was supposedly to be slated as its revenge tour; thus, setting the pay-per-view event Payback for such an insane conclusion.

But lest we forgot, we are entering the new era, where the authority had been admonished by the rise of the Roman empire, and a new authoritarian (though good guy) has taken over at the expense of earning the respect of his father. (Still, throwing the damn angle of their feud away.)

And just when you thought Shane McMahon has been on the roll, his sister Stephanie gets back on him at Stamford and sent a message from his father Vincent Kennedy.

But before that, let's have a rundown of WWE's annual edition of Payback that was staged once again at Rosemont, Illinois.

Clash of the Factions

So the New Day may have the best entrance tonight, but perhaps that will be their only consolation prize as they were thwarted by the League of Nations in one average show. Well, not really bad thing, but I’m quite sure this is not the best thing these two factions had got. Maybe the fact that tag team titles weren’t defended at Mania gives them a blow. Sad life.

The Pre-take: WrestleMania 32

AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho. As much as I admire the first part of their rivalry, unfortunately not when they reignited that one. We all knew Y2J was heel already when they clashed with each other before WWE FastLane, right? That being said, we may have been clearly distinguished who’s who; But should this one happened too soon? They just failed to dethrone The New Day once after three tries as Y2AJ? Fuck.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Roadblock

It was nothing but a disappointment on Toronto as WWE waged RoadBlock as part of their buildup for the show of shows, WrestleMania.

It;s the last pay-per-view event before WrestleMania. A pit stop bridging the Royal Rumble and the Show of Shows. However, this are speeding up as stories went full-throttle as we approach the first Sunday of April.

The stage is set on downtown Cleveland, but this ain’t the LeBron James show where he will take flight on the fastbreak.

The 2016 WWE Royal Rumble has just got more royalty with its new logo and presentation, though of course the stage set-up still sucks since Payback 2014. But hey, I think we are about to be treated in a special storyline presenting the current poster boy Roman Reigns.

Well, I kinda wonder: this should have been made earlier since WrestleMania 2015. But anyway...

The Rundown Slam: WWE TLC 2015

12/19/2015 9:51:35 AM

http://www.livesportsreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/WWE-TLC-2015.jpg

It's that time of the year again where the holidays at the world of
professional wrestling sports entertainment are served best with everyone’s favorite toys: tables, ladders, and chairs. It’s the WWE’s own version of “Demolition Derby,” and it’s not as tender loving care as it is.

WWE TLC was set at John Cena’s near-home turf TD Garden in Massachussets. Ironically, he wasn’t around even if speculations from the forums state he will appear again to challenge Alberto Del Rio, the man who defeated him at Hell in a Cell for the United States Championship.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Survivor Series 2015

This year’s Survivor Series, according to many, was so lame. Yeah, like the way I wrote my first statement there.

But kidding aside, why a lot of people were disappointed in the product after watching the pay-per-view event last two Sundays ago? I mean, what went wrong aside from the book booking and feud build-up?

WWE's Hell In A Cell may not be scheduled in the exact Halloween evening, but certainly was a perfect treat for such.

What’s the reason to say not to? You got two cage fights, and a fitting character in The Undertaker? Plus, kinda ironic in the set-up... the city of Los Angeles (that's a good introduction, Michael Cole!).

Without any further ado, let’s get down to business.
