69 Filipino songs that rocked my life in 2010s (Part 4)

01/30/2020 08:42:56 PM

It's a shame that it took me two months to finish this personal project. I initially had this in mind since late November and worked on the draft by mid-December. Anyway, here it goes...

Ten years ago, I tried coming up with a list of my favorite songs of the decade here in this blog. Unfortunately, I ended up shelving it as I got more busy with college studies and post-disaster recovery.

Ten years later, here I am compiling the nices bunch among the decade full of best local music. There we saw a shock pop turning things around, as well as one notable act putting up an all-English album, a plethora of emerging bands in the mid-2010s, and a former frontman standing on his own.

PlayBack: Mayonnaise – For The Rest of My Life

07/23/2017 10:12:12PM

It's a long whole since the last time I hooked up with Monty Macalino and his band that is so famous that you could only recall them more than just a sandwich dressing. Like seriously, when was the last time I heard of them? Barely seven years ago, with that old four-piece lineup. And the first time I had a chance to spot them live was during Docdef Productions' summer-in-November grandeur called In 'D Flow.

That lead me to curiosity of what's up with Mayonnaise – and their 2016 album.

The Scene Around: saGujio 13th Anniversary

06/08/17 01:48:00 PM

It was a rainy Saturday night to remember in the latter part of May as one of the metropolitan's best live music venues celebrated their 13 years of existence, and it was red hot as devilish fuck.

The Scene Around: Jack Attack

12/26/2016 11:09:32 PM

On a random time in July, I strolled around the nearest hangout place Eastwood City just to (well, obviously) hangout and get away from all those personal breakdowns I ever had for the past few months of my life. It has been a rocky year and yet I managed to utter these words despite just hitting the halfway point of 2016.

Playback: In D' Flow | Mayonnaise – Jopay

11/30/2015 7:42:10 PM

I have been a fan of Mayonnaise since their mainstream days—especially during the mid-2000s boom of OPM rock. They had done it by creating a song out of their fandom for a Sexbomb girl, severe breakdown affairs, and a whole lot more anthems for over the course of time.

But at the recent gig by Docdef Productions called In D’ Flow, I only thought I would be wild as fuck during the sets of Jensen and the Flips, my current top favorite Autotelic, and other rock bands.
