To Oust or Not to Oust?!

11/01/2017 08:13:58 PM

The Shot

10/28/2016 11:36:28 PM

It was the shot that seeming neutralized what has been a bunch of negative hypes that surrounded the league for the past season. Imagine one crowd-favorite team has finally made it to the promised land – a bit earlier from what has been expected from them.

Tirada Ni SlickMaster: Out of Bounds

5/17/2015 7:16:01 PM

Supalapal.

Taunt After Taunt

3/18/2015 10:37:51 AM

Just My Opinion: The Life and Times of Jimmy Alapag in the PBA

3/8/2015 8:42:20 PM

One Wednesday evening of November 2005: It was during my early days of following the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) when I first took notice on this guy – small in the typical Pinoy basketball player size – with that quickness to put up plays for the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals against Barangay Gineba San Miguel. The game was then slated at the packed Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City (and how can't I forget the match? I still even have the game's ticket on my archive.)

That guy was known as the “Mighty Mouse,” the Fil-American player named Jimmy Alapag.

"Joke Time"

The Scene Around: 2015 PBA Philippine Cup Finals Game 7

1/22/2015 2:43:31 PM

Looks like that Wednesday evening was the wildest so far. Well, you couldn’t blame me for bragging that one out since it’s just the start of the year yet.

Especially at the local pro basketball scene where two teams went over the limit in one of the most historic finishers in the league we know as the Philippine Basketball Association.

The scene was set at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, and 22,511 attendants (including yours truly) and millions of watching spectators via TV broadcast coverages and live streaming on the internet, witnessed Game 7 unfold in their eyes.

Basketbrawl Finals

1/11/2015 3:49:01 PM

Masyadong mainit. Masaydong piskal. Masyadong matindi lang.

Wow.

Ayos!

Grand Slam!

7/12/2014 11:11:33 AM

It’s a very rare thing for the world of Philippine sports to see this word: Grand Slam. And bet my money on this: fans nowadays aren’t very much familiar with that.

Yes, it’s very rare that only three ball clubs achieved the feat in all 39 years of existence in the PBA.
Until San Mig Coffee completed their road of bagging fourth straight championship—including all of the three conference crowns this season.

The Scene Around: 2014 Master Game Face Challenge

7/12/2014 11:20:36 AM

Four weeks ago, yours truly dropped by at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to witness Kevin Love’s Manila tour as the 3-time NBA All-Star forward graced the second edition of the Master Game Face Challenge.

It was formally slated after the San Mig Coffee-Talk ‘N Text semifinal clash in the PBA Governor’s Cup where the San Mig Coffee won.

Just My Opinion: Pacman In The PBA?

5/21/2014 2:22:52 PM

Ganun?

The Scene Around: PBA Manila Clasico Semis Game 5

2/10/2014 12:43:34 PM

It’s been more than a year since the last time I watched a PBA game live from the venue itself.
With an exciting vibe on Game 5 with then teams Ginebra and San Mig tied with 2 apiece in their Philippine Cup semifinals, I took a chance to grab a ticket and a seat (though we can’t blame if things nowadays are kinda expensive) to the Big Dome to witness who will about to take a 3-2 lead in the 2014 PLDT HOME-DSL All-Filipino cup.

Basketbrawl

09062013 | 1217PM

Three Quarters

12:01:15 AM | 5/26/2013 | Monday

This is how the Alaska Aces won the championship of the Philippine Basketball Association’s second conference of its 38th season, more known as the Commissioner’s Cup: They started the game strong, and finished the game strong. And I am not talking about those dazzling crossovers that starts the run of a basketball highlighted reel, and emphatic slam dunks that are more known to the sports commentators as “finishes strong,” huh?

Three games are quite enough to win it all, but believe me – three quarters in that same number of contests really dictated the series’ tempo, all in the favor of the Uytengsu franchise.

Gatas O Gin? (Just My Opinion: 2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals)

11:42:30 AM | 5/15/2013 | Wednesday

Gatas o Gin?

And We Meet Again for the Fifth Time

5:15:39 PM | 5/12/2013 | Sunday

Looks like another classic match-up will about to have an epic finale.

For some time lately I have been following this rivalry: Ginebra versus Talk ‘N Text. It’s the crowd favourite versus a perennial dynasty crew. It’s like the People’s champ going up against a solid title contender. And all that will happen tonight at the Big Dome. Do or die match.
