The Rundown Slam: WWE Royal Rumble 2018

For the first time since 2141286418 years, we have probably seen a best product from the World Wrestling Entertainment. Hell, this edition of Royal Rumble delivered well, and in my opinion, just next to WrestleMania XXX in 2014.

We have nine matches slated in a somewhat 6-hour and 15-minute affair that has sent few people in either their respective homes or that viewing party at Skinny Mike's in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig  as Royal Rumble has become the first wrestling affair (in case they didn't attend PWR's first 2018 gig).

The Pre-take: WWE SummerSlam 2017 (Part 3)

We may have been hours away from witnessing the second's biggest WWE pay-per-view event, the one they called “the biggest party of the summer,” and coinciding with an all-heavy music fetsival in the Philippines.

The 31st edition of SummerSlam is poised to take off on Sunday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (Monday morning Philippine time), their third-straight tiume in staging the event at the said venue.  And for over the decade, SummerSlam were only situated in two venues: Barclays Center and Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

We get it. Braun's (then) out, so that prospect match with Roman Reigns was shelved, and probably we have expected that to be carried on by the likes of Dean Ambrose and The Miz. And by the first look, Exterme Rules wouldn't have been salvaged if: (1) the former Intercontinental Champ wasn't sent to RAW as part of the Superstar Shake-up; and (2) the Hardy Boyz surprise return.

P.S. I just like the way the frame and Kurt's gesture compliment perfectly.
Just when you thought that we have seen nostalgia enough from the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2017, we are wrong. This blockbuster three-way match for the tag-team ladder match turned out into another Fatal 4-way.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Roadblock End Of The Line

12/30/2016 02:53:10 PM

The World Wrestling Entertainment got their specials boosted up as they end the year with a RAW-exclusive pay per view (PPV) gig called Roadblock: End Of The Line. And frankly, it wasn't a bad show to culminate WWE's run this 2016.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Hell In A Cell 2016

We got triple main event matches that make this RAW-exclusive PPV as historically big as it gets. And why not? They were staging the 2016 edition of WWE's Hell In A Cell at the epic TD Garden in Boston, the place where the dominating Boston Celtics lives on.

But is it really epic or just plain dragging, considering the entire program lasted for five freaking hours; almost equalizing SummerSlam for that matter. They had an hour for the pre-show, 3 hours and 16 minutes for the main program and around 43 minutes for the fallout-like RAW Talk. While the programming has been making drastic changes (thanks to the WWE Network), five hours of wrestling in a Sunday can be really dragging, unless it's WrestleMania time.

Anyway, let's just slam the rundown, shall we?

The Rundown Slam: WWE Clash of Champions

10/07/2016 12:52:09 AM

WWE Monday Night RAW unleashed their first brand-only PPV of the new era, and despite the complications of the SmackDown having their own championships, the evening was still called Clash of Champions where all of the five RAW Championship will be contested.

The Pre-take: WWE Clash Of Champions

09/23/2016 05:42:02 PM

This is the time where the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has put every belt on the line. And with the outcome of the brand extension, the Night of Champions was now renamed and became an exclusive pay-per-view property of the WWE's flagship program Monday Night RAW.

Dubbed as Clash of Champions, every RAW Championship will put at stake. Plus, more of the action from various storylines will also add spice for the evening come Sunday at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2016 (Part 1)

08/29/2016 02:06:22 PM

This might be one-week late or something, but as they say “it's better late than never.” that being said, here's my take on what just happened at the World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) 29th annual biggest party of the summer, SummerSlam!

So, things moved like the way WWE has been planning WrestleMania before, eh? There's a week of festivity that showcased them a three-night treat of live showmanship called NXT TakeOver Brooklyn II (Saturday), WWE SummerSlam (Sunday), and Monday Night RAW – all held at the Barclay's Center in New York City.

Looks like the World Wrestling Entertainment has been really serious in building SummerSlam as its second biggest show of the year, eh? Look at this: 13 matches in all, with ten of them happening at the four-hour main broadcast. Three main event matches: one that has been hyped despite controversies, and two title matches representing RAW and SmackDown brands.

Hey, it's even bigger than WrestleMania 32. And expect the live venue crowd's not large in numbers since it will be slated at the Barclays Center though we hope they will roll on a different stage design unlike the so-totally-generic ones they had for the past two years.

The Rundown Slam: WWE TLC 2015

12/19/2015 9:51:35 AM

It's that time of the year again where the holidays at the world of
professional wrestling sports entertainment are served best with everyone’s favorite toys: tables, ladders, and chairs. It’s the WWE’s own version of “Demolition Derby,” and it’s not as tender loving care as it is.

WWE TLC was set at John Cena’s near-home turf TD Garden in Massachussets. Ironically, he wasn’t around even if speculations from the forums state he will appear again to challenge Alberto Del Rio, the man who defeated him at Hell in a Cell for the United States Championship.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Survivor Series 2015

11/30/2015 6:20:35 PM

Screengrab from YouTube
This year’s Survivor Series, according to many, was so lame. Yeah, like the way I wrote my first statement there.

But kidding aside, why a lot of people were disappointed in the product after watching the pay-per-view event last two Sundays ago? I mean, what went wrong aside from the book booking and feud build-up?

Say, SummerSlam just got better, as what the World Wrestling Entertainment claimed a few weeks ago? Well, they had packed cards (10 matches to be exact) on their four-hour schedule; ditching the preshow with mostly talks and bunch of trashtalks in the process. Perhaps they are telling a narrative prior to the game itself—in such a typical manner.

Talk about a late “cash in” here. It's been a week and a half since the World Wrestling Entertainment conducted their edition of the pay-per-view called Money in the Bank—an evening which offers an instant potential title shot called Money in the Bank ladder match.

This is Awesome (The Notable Matches on the WWE PPV Events of 2014 Part 2)

12/30/2014 11:39:47 AM

Let me reiterate: this is sole my opinion alone, and not a reflection of views from any wrestling affiliations I belonged with. Yes, after all, I don’t consider myself a total smark, but an avid follower.

The arrangement of the matches listed in this article were chronologically, and not on a countdown-like basis. All matches were held on their Pay Per View (PPV) events.

For every WWE pay-per-view event, there were at least one, two, or few more cards which deserved this type of chant.

Hereby are the last of my part two series regarding my take on the best matches made in the World Wrestling Entertainment for 2014.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Hell in a Cell 2014

11/1/2014 2:09:34 PM

It’s that time of the year when the World Wrestling Entertainment switched gears and went as hellish as fuck when they slate two inferno-like cage matches on Sunday popularly known as Hell in the Cell.
