The Best and Worst WrestleMania Moments in the Last 10 Years (Part 1 of 2)

I have been following professional wrestling (although not in a very religious way) since 2012. I have seen WrestleMania during Holy Tuesday of the said year; and it has been a yearly thing for me to watch the show, be it live, primetime replay, or on-demand. That said, it's fair to say I have watched WrestleMania for 12 consecutive years – and probably going on 13 by April 6-7 (or April 7-8 by the Philippine Standard Time).

The Rundown Slam: WrestleMania 33 (Part 4)

04/09/2017 10:38:52 PM

Just when we thought about of the WWE Championship as the main event of WrestleMania, we ended up on the wrong path again. They piloted the second half of this five-hour extravaganza with a supposedly-compelling storyline.

The Pre-Take: WWE WrestleMania 33

04/02/17 11:03:57 PM

John Cena and Nikki Bella versus The Miz and Maryse might be one of the best things that will take olace at WrestleMania. At least that saved me from having some pre-event's disdains as a wrestling fan.

While things were quite obvious to be pointing in that direction even during his days of being the 16th time World Champion, it seems that Cena and his real-life girlfriend were planned to engage in an altercation with Mike Mizanin and his wife. Both sports-entertainers (we mean wrestlers) and entertainers at their very own respective rights.

Perhaps if there’s any other best brawl for Mania, it’s this Hell in a Cell match. And frankly enough they have redeemed themselves from having a poor, illogical booking here. It was nothing but a fantastic match so to speak.

PlayBack: MONEY-Making Dive

As of writing time, I haven't seen the entirety of WretsleMania 32. It had lukewarm receptions by having some awesome matches (specifically, the Hell in a Cell match, ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, and the triple threat match for the WWE Divas Women's Championship) and a fucked-up main event between Triple H and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Plus the fact about this program lasted almost five hours. Ouch.

The Pre-take: WrestleMania 32 - Power for Power

3/30/2016 10:40:32 PM

So, it was that time of the year again for the sports entertainment world. That Sunday full of nothing but storytelling thru combat forces and physicality which serves as a teleserye to the machismo world. Yes, just like your dramarama every primetime hours of 24/7, professional wrestling has a show like no other. Four (or even seven) hours of live entertainment, and that is called WrestleMania.

Un-survivng the Fantasy Booking

As much as I wanna feel excited for Survivor Series, I ended up hitting the dismayed emoticon.

And why not? The theme for Survivor Series is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Undertaker; and the only way to do so is by having him the captain of the Survivor Series team for the latest edition.

I guess the WWE creatives are trying to break everyone’s expectation; considering professional wrestling is “scripted” by nature.

WWE's Hell In A Cell may not be scheduled in the exact Halloween evening, but certainly was a perfect treat for such.

What’s the reason to say not to? You got two cage fights, and a fitting character in The Undertaker? Plus, kinda ironic in the set-up... the city of Los Angeles (that's a good introduction, Michael Cole!).

Without any further ado, let’s get down to business.

Upcoming: Go To Hell

9/28/2015 6:28:21 PM

Since I missed watching WWE Night of Champions, I’ll shift my focus on this one... well, for a while. It seems as the Brock Lesnar-Undertaker feud reaches its end on Hell in A Cell, I think his character was rebuilt into another mold of being “The Conqueror.”

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2015

Say, SummerSlam just got better, as what the World Wrestling Entertainment claimed a few weeks ago? Well, they had packed cards (10 matches to be exact) on their four-hour schedule; ditching the preshow with mostly talks and bunch of trashtalks in the process. Perhaps they are telling a narrative prior to the game itself—in such a typical manner.

I am fucking sold.

Yes, I said this statement a lot of times again and I am saying it more. I am fucking sold on this one.

Well, things are about to take a swerve as SummerSlam approaches. But before we head to a season switch, we got a warfare called Battleground, where some of the feuds had some sort of very long-but-almost forgettable beginnings.

Brawls for the Guys With Balls

07/23/2015 09:00:57 AM

There's nothing more awesome than what happened last Monday night on WWE's flagship program Raw. It reminds me of an old Scott Hall remark in WCW: “You want war? You're gonna get one!”

And indeed, every single member of the WWE Universe was treated for al all-out brawl between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker.

Nobody saw it coming. Not even a lot of smarks. And if there are few, maybe we're talking about those legit and religious wrestling observers here.

The Rundown Slam: WrestleMania 31

Like a holiday jingle, “it’s that wonderful time of the year” again, as the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) staged their annual entertainment spectacular event once again. And by the way, it comes with a play button.

WrestleMania 31 was a heck of a show at the Silicon Valley. Forget that it aired on a Sunday afternoon—with a sun-shinyyy day atmosphere. It may appeared scorching hot as shit right there, but you can never deny the event was hotter as it gets.

As much as I want to tackle the pre-show which featured 2 matches, I hadn’t watched them so I beg your pardon in advance and instead move on to the main program.

The Pre-Take: WrestleMania 31 (Part 3)

Since it’s gonna be another heck-of-an-event this coming Sunday evening in Silicon Valley (Monday morning Manila time), expect the millions (and millions!) of wrestling fans around the globe to witness the World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) 31st annual spectacle, popularly known as WrestleMania!

And what’s a WrestleMania for the SlickMaster – along with his followers (whom, by the way, are just countable by your fingertips!) without a “pre-take,” right?

Talk about predictions, just like the way we have last year.

Can You Still Dig It?

3/14/2015 8:27:03 PM

I hate to sound like either Booker T’s entrance or the Iron Man Three’s closing credits clip here. First and foremost, I’m not writing this post to diss the Undertaker. In fact, he’s one of my favorite wrestlers in the World Wrestling Entertainment, especially if it’s about their biggest program named WrestleMania.

Though last year was perhaps the most surprising moment of them all—his loss to a ruthless athlete named Brock Lesnar. It was so shocking it even overshadowed the overhyped-but-underdelivered Andre the Giant memorial battle royal, as well as Daniel Bryan’s sojourn to championship.

The Rundown Slam: WWE Fastlane

Just merely 35 nights before the grandest stage of sports entertainment, the World Wrestling Entertainment unleashed another pay-per-view, replacing Elimination Chamber in the process. The road seemed a smooth one as WWE took on the Fastlane.

WWE Fastlane comprised nine segments -- seven matches and two face-off sequences, in front of a not-so-loudly crowd FedEx Forum at Memphis, Tennessee. I wonder how Jerry “The King” Lawler felt that time. Sorry, man.

This is Awesome (The Notable Matches on WWE PPV Events of 2014 Part 1)

12/30/2014 11:39:47 AM

Let me reiterate: this is sole my opinion alone, and not a reflection of views from any wrestling affiliations I belonged with. Yes, after all, I don’t consider myself a total smark, but an avid follower.

The arrangement of the matches listed in this article were chronologically, and not on a countdown-like basis. All matches were held on their Pay Per View (PPV) events.

For every WWE pay-per-view event, there were at least one, two, or few more cards which deserved this type of chant.

Yes, and I intend to start this post with that “This Is Awesome” clip from the 2014 Slammy Awards. Not because of the nominees, but the hype the music brought on it. How I wish I could play that one minus the commentary as the background while you guys read this post.
