The Best and Worst WrestleMania Moments in the Last 10 Years (Part 2 of 2)

I have been following professional wrestling (although not in a very religious way) since 2012. I have seen WrestleMania during Holy Tuesday of the said year; and it has been a yearly thing for me to watch the show, be it live, primetime replay, or on-demand. That said, it's fair to say I have watched WrestleMania for 12 consecutive years – and probably going on 13 by April 6-7 (or April 7-8 by the Philippine Standard Time).

2023, The Year of The Bloodline?
01/17/2024 03:00:00 PM
Okay. It's been close to three weeks as I write this series of essays, but I can only wonder: why only now? I guess it's because I now have the time needed since the past month and these past couple of weeks had been too busy for me to collate and compile all those thoughts that ran into my head for 2023.
It is safe to say that after three years, the world is really back to its normalcy. In TV lingo, we call it “back to regular programming.” For what its worth, 2023 didn't just had a roller coaster ride – there's also a see-saw and a swing. It was a carousel-like experience. I'm just glad I still manage to get back into writing because after all, who still reads blogs today – at the era when reels and vlogs became the name of the game in content creation?
Well, never say never, as resilient people would tell; so that being said, here is just one of the pieces that contain my sentiments on whatever issue or event I have experienced during 2023.

The Rundown Slam: WWE SummerSlam 2023

It's been close to three weeks since the Biggest Party of the Summer took place at the Motor City, and some of my friends would actually say this year's SummerSlam was even bigger than its WrestleMania counterpart.
But did it, really?

This year saw World Wrestling Entertainment staging up more premium live events outside the Unites States. Of course, London became one of the premier destinations when WWE recently hold their de facto fifth biggest show of the year, Money In The Bank.

You know, I shouldn't be writing stuff about this monumental wrestling event. Hey, we're almost three weeks removed from the Royal Rumble, so why do we need to milk more on this annual January WWE show which shows the opening salvo on the WrestleMania season?

This has been perhaps one of the unexpected twists since Triple H took over as one of the top executives of World Wrestling Entertainment. A rare time of having a non-traditional tag team elimination match for an event that is annually known for such. Really?!

Vince McMahon is Wrestling, Whether We Like It or Not

Professional wrestling was just another circus act centuries ago, but it wasn’t until four decades ago when a third generation promoter put the sport on the map, just after enduring a marked decline in its popularity.

I remember watching a press conference initiated by World Wrestling Entertainment at the Consumer and Electronics Show in 2014 about a product that is initially seemed a haven for all the wrestling sport entertainment fans.

It's time again that World Wrestling Entertainment has set the competition among its two brands in time for their annual Thanksgiving tradition, Survivor Series. Over 15,000 flocked the Barclays Center for the first Survivor Series show with the live crowd since.

The Punkin' Comeback
09/05/2021 06:23:34 PM
By the time I post this article, we probably had seen All Out. But I wouldn't comment on that match (at least, not yet). I'm more after this iconic moment.
More known as the legendary CM Punk, Phil Brooks has returned to professional wrestling for the first time in seven years—or sixteen, in his own opinion. We all know we last saw CM Punk in that squared circle stage during WWE Royal Rumble as a competitor and on WWE Backstage as one of the analyzing mouthpieces.

WWE's biggest event of the summer just got bigger as they staged SummerSlam at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Some remarked SummerSlam has become even more significant than this year's WrestleMania (yes, despite the latter being a two-day event).

The NXT we know seemed to reach its end. As I write this, a new era has ushered and following the actual event. NXT taped its last few episodes. Reports also stated that this coming NXT is not what Triple H has been producing for years — Vince McMahon and Bruce Pichard will now handle that (or at least, reportedly).

After a year and a half, World Wrestling Entertainment has finally ditched the all-virtual ThunderDome welcomed back live events and its crowd—aptly called WWE Universe—into its fold.

The WWE Thunderdome Experience

(Updated 07/17/2021 05:41:38 PM: Heads-up. The following has been written months before WWE end its Thunderdome arena program this past Friday, 16 July 2021.)
It's no secret that the pandemic has screwed the events industry in one way or another. Be it sports, corporate presentation, or even concerts, everything that involves this 6-letter word was practically paralyzed. For the worse part of the year, every city, town, or country has been placed on lockdown; which also meant shows have to be either rescheduled (until further notice) or cancelled; and audiences were forced to stay home.
