Jakarta-born, Los Angeles-based rising star, Warren Hue, takes us to New York with the release of his new single “NYU.” The latest taste of Warren’s upcoming mixtape, TUNA, the track delves into the challenges of balancing a long-distance relationship with his ambitions as an artist. Highlighting the emotional tug-of-war between love and personal growth, “NYU” is produced by Warren’s right hand collaborator, Chasu. The music video was directed and edited by Warren himself and it pieces together the nostalgic moments that come with being a 22 year old in NYC.

Jakarta-born, Los Angeles-based rising star, Warren Hue, responds to the demands of his fans with the official release of his “BLACKONBLACK FREESTYLE,” which is out today on all platforms. Warren first performed the freestyle on the popular channel, On The Radar, generating lots of fan commotion who were excited to see Warren rapping after recent genre-bending releases like “RODEO” and “SPLIT.” “BLACKONBLACK FREESTYLE was created during a transit from Japan to Los Angeles,” Warren shared on his process. “With my headphones on, I searched for type beats, feeling the need to prove myself. The verses explore various topics, including the lifestyles in LA and Jakarta, and touch on themes of motivation.” The music video was filmed, directed and edited by Warren himself. Fresh from making his mark with the 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE music collective, where he contributed to five tracks alongside Offset, Amaarae, De La Soul, Cuco and MILLI on the album, Hella, Warren Hue drops his most personal single, “SPLIT.” Out now via 88rising with an official music video, “SPLIT” finds the 21-year old rising star introspectively examining the highs and lows of being in a cross-country relationship. “SPLIT is a song that I wrote detailing an experience in a long-distance relationship,” Warren shared. “I wanted to create a song based on split lifestyles and how pressure and insecurity can take over your emotions. Trust is a big theme in the song, telling my significant other to believe in me and vice-versa.” The day-in-the-life music video captures Warren’s twenty something lifestyle, a mix of finding his place in a new city and letting loose, while pursuing his dreams. The alternative hip-hop track is produced by frequent-collaborator, Chasu, and is the latest offering ahead of a larger release from Warren. Check out “SPLIT” here and stay tuned for more news.

Produced by longtime collaborator Chasu, the ethereal track presents a more subdued and contemplative direction for Warren Hue’s multidimensional sound. Hitting on the bliss and ease of knowing you’re on the right path, the languid and vibey track offers reassurance that things are meant to be. “TENNESSEE is a song I wrote during a time in my life when I had a lot going on in my mind, fighting my inner thoughts.” Warren shared. “It’s a song about trying to rediscover who I am as a person in a tough period of my life, blocking out what people were trying to tell me to do or say. It’s one of my most personal and introspective songs I’ve released so far.” Filmed during a late night outing in New York City, the “TENNESSEE” music video captures Warren's comfort in solitude as he rides through the city and dances alone under the neon lights.

The album sees the city of Los Angeles through Warren’s eyes, told through genre-blending sounds and lyrical complexities. It’s his personal account of moving away from Indonesia, pursuing his dreams in music, and the challenging obstacles and vibrant triumphs he experienced being in a new city.
