PlayBack: Apartel – Full Flood

It was somewhat turn-around from what they did in the past. Not fully, but still. The soul train that is  Apartel just got bigger in 2018, and its Full Flood proved that they don't show any signs of sophomore slump despite going undergoing a lot of changes since the Inner Play-era.

It's a shame that it took me two months to finish this personal project. I initially had this in mind since late November and worked on the draft by mid-December. Anyway, here it goes... 

Ten years ago, I tried coming up with a list of my favorite songs of the decade here in this blog. Unfortunately, I ended up shelving it as I got more busy with college studies and post-disaster recovery.

Anti-Bullying Anthem.

Hindi ko mawari kung paano ako nabighani sa boses ni Zia Quizon sa pagkanta ng chorus part ng kantang ito. Pero mas namangha ako sa mensaheng dala ng mga rap ni Gloc-9. Naglalarawan ng mga masasalimuot na karanasan ng isang batang tahasanag nilalait, inaalipusta, o sinisindak ng kapwa niyang kamag-aral. Kung ano ang epekto nito sa kanyang buhay, at pakikitungo sa tao. Sa sobrang lakas lang ng pangtitrip sa kanya, ito ay maituturing na isang kaso ng bullying.

Basta ang alam ko lang ay may matitiding mensahe ang nilalaman ng kantang ito. Parang pakikibaka ba? Oo, pero isang matinding hakbang laban sa hindi matapos-tapos na pakikidigma sa kaso ng paninindak.
Nagsama ang dalawa para sa isang awitin na may pinaparating na mensahe mula sa isang organisasyon na may adbokasiyang labanan ang pangbubully.
