Salamat, Senadora. Paalam.

Rewind: Earth, Wind & Fire - September

09/21/2016 03:44:18 AM

Perhaps I'm not too late to give a bit of a look-back to the pioneer of the Earth, Wind and Fire pioneers, eh?

I quite heard this from my cousin's disco fiasco albums way back then; the era where guys like Shalamar, Chic, and even Michael Jackson has been making everyone groove to the mixture of soul-funk-rnb-and Motown pop, a mixture that defined the late 70s music.

Perhaps of all the awards given at the National Basketball Association, this is something new yet a very important gem in the world of this sport. Well, why not? This proved how powerful the word “teamwork” is.

Magic Madness

03/17/2016 04:15:35 PM

The official logo of Magic 89.9, first used on early 2000s. Photo obtained at yvesarellano.wordpress.com
First heard this station on my old-but-digital PIONEER component player. It was a Friday afternoon, and they were playing music from the 1980s; one of my old favorite decades, thanks to my cousin and his collection of tapes as well as Grand Theft Auto Vice City.

The next time around I tuned in, it was a Sunday night fill of slow jams I used to hear from my sister's 'burned' CDs. Late 90s to present; 112 to Boyz II Men. Suddenly, that made my interest shift from masa to the cliché ones.

Yes, that was the time I made the BIG SWITCH to Magic 89.9.

Inside the Pages: Heneral Luna The History Behind the Movie

Book-to-movie adaptations is undeniable part of the pop culture right now. An entire book translated into a single screenplay (or a series of screenplays) that was perhaps not just a culture norm of entertainment, but a marketing tool to a merchandise is so evident that people usually generates array of feedbacks regarding to it.

Okay. I have said this already a lot of times, but I guess I’ll do it once again: THIS MOVIE IS NOTHING BUT FUCKING AWESOME!

Hey, can I utter more words, aside from the fact that its trailer did not disappoint me at all? (Seriously, I saw several of them since late 2014.)

The Good Guys and Juan Flavier

11/1/2014 3:40:10 PM

(with matching thumbs up sign).
(May drawing pa nga nito nun eh)

The Scene Around: Gabi Ng Pagpupugay

06/13/14 01:32:20 PM

The Independence Day was the very important holiday for the citizens of Republic of the Philippines. It was indeed the date which showcased one of the most pivotal events in the history of this country–our independence of the three-century colonization of then-European imperialist Spain.

It was every June 12th of the year when several events were held in observance of our Independence day, such as job fairs, the annual rituals of giving tributes and respect to RP's official signs, and even advocacy-driven rallies and concerts.

Though most of them were on the political and artistic themes, no one seemed to put a hand on sports. It's like everyone forgotten something–that is to pay tribute to the people who made recognition through the means of playing the physical (and mental) activities in life called “sports.”

This is what the objective of a veteran sports-beat journalist and former commissioner of the now-defunct Philippine Basketball League (PBL) Chino Trinidad when he waged a sporting tribute event called “Pagpupugay”at the Newport Performing Arts Theater located inside the Newport Mall of Resorts World Manila on Thursday evening, which by the way was also the Independence Day (June 12).

The Pick: History

11/15/2013 4:23:27 PM

Chronicles Of A Radio Kid – Life and Death (November 8, 2010)

11/8/2013 9:35:53 PM

Tigers With An Upset

9/30/2013 12:34:07 PM

And yet again.

Just when you thought that one university from the streets of Jocson in Sampaloc, Mania will end their championship drought, their España-based brothers (in UAAP) had a different plan – that is to steal their hopes and literally crush their spirits.

Okay, forget the cheer dance sport that they ruled for a very long period of time (and the bitter fact of going over several slumps on their stunts). University of Santo Tomas is back on the “big dance” stage of basketball, and they will face La Salle for that matter.

Bayanihan Noon.... Ano Na Ngayon?

8/27/2013 11:35:38 AM

Napanood ko ‘to habang nakatuned in sa aking lumang paboritong sitcom nun.

30 Years After Aquino’s Assassination… Anyare?

8/21/2013 4:50:45 PM

Napag-iiwanan Na Nga Ba Ang Basketball Sa Ating Bansa?

8/2/2013 11:56:58 AM

EDSA After 27 Years... anyare?

11:29 AM | 02/09/2013

EDSA after 27 years... anyare?

Unfair kay Macoy?

02/02/2013 11:00 AM
