Just a short feature, and allow me to hit by the flows of the mainstream for this short while.

Well, sometimes, I wonder... how on earth do this video reached more than 221 million views within the period of only 12 days. Yes, 12 freaking days; 2 days short of a 2-week-span of time.

When the Gang goes Gaga over Gangnam style.

Matapos ang “Call Me Maybe” ni Carly Rae Jepsen, isa na namang panibagong kaso ng LSS ang lumalaganap. At matapos ang “Teach Me How to Dougie” ng Cali Swag District, isang sayaw na naman ang nauuso. Usapang viral hit na naman ngayong 2012.

Nagsimula sa isang dance hit, naging viral ang isa sa mga panibagong kanta na umiikot sa sirkulasyon ng YouTube. At isa na namang panibagong isyu ito ng K-Pop invasion.

Ang kanta at sayaw ni Psy na “Oppa Gangnam Style” ay naging patok sa nasabing video streaming site. Ilang daang milyong hits na ang naitala nito. Naging trending na usapan din ito sa mga social networking sites worldwide. Hanggang sa kani-kanilang version ng nasabing dance hit ang nagsisulputan sa YouTube.

Sobrang patok ba ang usapan? Oo, kaya nga napasama na ‘to sa Guiness. Nah, siguro iyan talaga ang mangyayari kapag una nakukuha ng ritmo ang atensyon mo. Kahit hindi mo maintindihan ang liriko o kahit ilang salita lang ng wikang Ingles ang nabanggit at iyong naiintindihan, sige, go lang. Karaniwan kasi sa mga patok na kanta sa kahit anong lengwahe, basta naiintindihan mo ang mga sinasabi sa chorus o yung mas inuulit na parte man lang dun, ayun na. Ok sa alright na para sa ilan. Siguro, lalo na sa kaso ngayon na mararaming mga kanta mula sa Korean pop culture ang sumisikat hindi lang sa Pilipinas at sa ibang bansa sa Asya, kundi sa buong mundo.

Aba’y kayo na ang manghusga. Mula sa palabas sa telebisyon, lokal man o banyaga, hanggang sa mga sikat na personalidad, hanggang sa ultimo mga bata.

Pero kahit hindi po trip ng inyong lingkod ang mga ganitong klaseng tugtugin ay sinubukan ko pa rin na pakinggan ang nasabing kanta at panoorin ang music video nito. Hmmm… ayos din ha. Yung musika. Pero yung sayaw, aba, hindi na ko magkukumento.

Kung magpapaka-superficial ako, medyo astig din pala yung beat. Minsan nga naisip ko tuloy na baka next time na mag-download ako ng mga ringtones e baka mamaya ito na ang tumunog pag may “1 message received” ah.

Pero anyway, ayos lang yung kanta para sa akin. Pero hanggang dun lang. Mas ayos pa rin para sa akin ang lokal na musika.
