Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie poster (Disney.PH)

May 2023 is somehow monumental for me as a seldom movie watcher. If we talk about Marvel Cinematic Universe here, this marked my tenth year since the first time watching a MCU movie. And sure, I may not be able to watch every single flick since then. However, I never missed a time of seeing both the first and second installments of Guardians of The Galaxy at the cinemas.

The OTJ: The Missing 8 Experience

07/20/2022 09:38:00 AM

There are certain milestones in life which are truly timeless and remarkable – at least, for one’s personal satisfaction. For some, seeing their name published in any publication is already a mark; others who would be featured in a still photograph is another; and for select people, getting credited in a project – be it a full movie, music video, or a TV or radio program – is already like a stamp that can’t be erased from their memory.

Flick ReView: Don't Look Up

Don't Look Up poster (IMDb)

It was funny yet depressive. Some fans loved it, and some critics had opinions about this. Nevertheless, it is known that Don't Look Up has been one of the best movies shown before the year-end, topping over fellow Netflix offerings like the supposedly timely-mockumentary Death To 2021.

Spider-Man: No Way Home poster from IMDb

Disclaimer: This article may contain spoilers. So if I were you, watch the damn movie first.

It has been one of the most anticipated motion pictures the public has been clamoring for the year. Spider-Man: No Way Home has been considered one of the centerpieces of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four. It has a similar storyline that involves multiple dimensions, alternate realities, and many complicated conflicts.

Red Notice poster (IMDB)

For a movie that has three of today's biggest stars in Hollywood, Red Notice appears to be larger than life and the paper. And after a series of overwhelmingly plot twists, they tried. It was highly entertaining, proven that you quit sitting in your brain for nearly two hours.

Maria official movie poster (IMDB)
It seems to me that VIVA Films has been producing some of the high-quality local movies recently. Buy Bust somehow raved for its grotesque and proved Anne Curtis can be a tough ass-kicking agent, plus Arjo Atayde being such a devilish guy as a character actor.

Flick ReView - GLASS

Makes me wonder: Glass is a movie that should focus on M. Night Shyamalan's villain who goes as an alter ego to Elijah Price, right?

Flick Review: Bohemian Rhapsody

11/03/2018 12:16:00 AM

I admit: I'm not a fan of this famous band. Though I like their music – well, sometimes. But I don't hate them either, and that shouldn't actually stop me from appreciating more of what they offer.

One of BuyBust's official movie posters. (Obtained thru IMDb)

We have seen a sudden influx of resurgence of action movies in the current landscape of Philippine movies since earlier this decade. For one moment we thought of kingpins and hoodlums being showcased (with a glimpses of glorifying) the reasons beneath the crimes; and the next time around we just witnessed a perspective-twisting kind of crime thrillers (hey, who said we need spirits and ghosts to create horror-like films?).

Flick Review: Patay Na Si Hesus

Patay Na Si Hesus was supposed to poise a tragic movie by the paper. However, the comedy didn't appear like joke here.

Flick Review: Despicable Me 3

09/03/2017 04:53:23 PM

Despicable Me 3 appears to be a forced – or coerced – extension of what should've been an animated show featuring Steve Carell's portrayal of an animated round frontal character and a bunch of show-stealers known as the minions.
