This is how the Alaska Aces won the championship of the Philippine Basketball Association’s second conference of its 38^th season, more known as the Commissioner’s Cup: They started the game strong, and finished the game strong. And I am not talking about those dazzling crossovers that starts the run of a basketball highlighted reel, and emphatic slam dunks that are more known to the sports commentators as “finishes strong,” huh?

Three games are quite enough to win it all, but believe me – three quarters in that same number of contests really dictated the series’ tempo, all in the favor of the Uytengsu franchise.

Ang K-12 education system, isang programa na nagpabago sa sistema ng edukasyon mula sa dating 10 taon, ay naisabatas na matapos itong pirmahan ni Pangulong Noynoy Aquino kamakailanlang.

Ngayon, ano na? Ano ang signipikasyon nito sa panahon ngayon? Nahuhuli na raw kasi ang Pilipinas pagdating sa sistema ng edukasyon e. Sa totoo lang, mula noong nakalaya tayo sa diktadurya, ang edukasyon ay isa sa mga bagay na ineechapwera ng lipunan. Naging isa rin ito sa ugat ng diskriminasyon sa iilan.

Crybaby

I think we should apply this saying:”The ones who cry loud, cries best.”

Brock Lesnar may be tagged as a “crybaby” due to the bad knee that he sustained during the finale part of the WWE’s Extreme Rules. But he delivered something more important than his tears and loudest moans – a victory. More importantly, that W served as the tie-breaker on their series of clashes between him and the 13-time champion Triple H.

I never witnessed much of the World Wrestling Entertainment’s Extreme Rules event. As I turned on my television set (for the first and only time then) and tuned in to Studio 23, I only managed to catch the last two main fights, and that includes the title "Last Man Standing" match for the WWE championship, and the one in the steel cage. More like “Hell in the Cell,” if I got it right.

Sure, “it’s quite brutally scripted big time” as others may say. But and however, I find the last few minutes portion of the fight… not anymore. And I’m talking Ryback’s clash with the champion John Cena. They are already exchanging heated words and some physical action prior to the Extreme Rules contest. And it already seems that the former’s hungrier to win as the latter’s still battling with injuries on his left ankle.

2013 na nga, pero sarap balikan ang panahon no? Akala mo twing Miyerkules, Biyernes, Sabado at Linggo ka lang makakapagsenti ukol sa mga old school na bagay? Akala ko rin e.

Isa akong batang 90s, kaya huwag ka nang magtaka kung ilang taon na ako. Pero sa halip na makiuso ako sa mga nauusong bagay ngayon. Mas nasasarapan pa kong tanawin ang alaala ng nakaraan, noong panahon na marami pang sitcom sa gabi kesa sa telenobela, na ang Fiesta carnival ang pinakamalapit na aliwan, at ang palabas sa COD Cubao ang pinakacheapest form ng quality entertainment (yan ay kung wala ka pang pang-sine pag Christmas). Walang digicam, modernong cellphone noon at ang Beeper, Tamagotchi at Viewmaster pa ang mga gadget nun. Wala pang mp3 at DVD at ang Betamax, Cassette Tape at ultimo ang Laser Disc pa ang mga patok na bagay noon. Pero buti na lang, narito pa rin sila. At kung wala man, may mga litrato pa rin na pwedeng ipaskil sa Facebook at sabihing “buti na lang, naabutan ko ang mga ‘to.”

O minsa'y mas okay pang magbalik-tanaw sa mga video ng palabas na napapanood mo nun (pati ultimo ang mga commercial) sabay i-tweet sa Twitter na may hashtag na “#ThrowbackThursday.”

Tapos na ang eleksyon. Naiproklama na ang mga nanalong kandidato. Kaso may pahabol na patutsada ang ilan. Pero hindi ang mga natalong kandidato mismo ang umaangal ng “pandaraya.” Alam mo kung sino? Ang ilang mga personalidad, at ang kanilang nirereklamo ay ang pagproklama sa labindalawang mga senador na nananlo nitong 2013 midterm elections.

Ang Feeling ng Taiwan

Ang feeling rin nila, ano? Pagkaliit-liit lang naman ng lugar, pero akala mo kung sinong Goliath kung mag-angas?

Pero bakit nga ba humantong sa ganitong kaanghang na relasyon ang dalawang bansang ito? Minsan tuloy naisip ko, pagkamalas-malas nga naman ng kasalukuyang administrasyon pagdating sa usaping diplomatika, ano? Pambihira lang, lagi na lang kasi tayong binubully ng ating mga kapitbahay, lalo na sa usapin ng teritoryo. At nitong Mayo a-9 ay nasangkot na naman ang Pilipinas, at sino ang kalaban? Ang bansang Taiwan.
