The “I-Hate-to-See-an-Over-PDAing-Couple” Syndrome

02/26/2012 04:20PM

DISCLAIMER: Before you rant “bitter” on this, make sure you have read everything first.

Since the last time my dogs screwed up my shades, I never owned and wore a new one, until my sister gave her that eyewear apparel to me – an oversized aviator type which I used more as a props but I had no choice but to wear whenever I’m hitting a public place.

There are 2 reasons why I used to wear those glasses: either the sun rays are too high for me, and just want to pretend that I don’t see much people around. It’s like the spotlights on me; I am the only king of the world. Nah, but that’s too selfish. I just hate the fact that seeing people like those ugly goons, trying hard salesmen, and over-PDAing couple. Well, let’s focus on the latter.

just my opinion: commercialism kills the real deal.

"nagkataon lamang na ang dami nyong nabenta dahil sobrang daming Pilipino ubod ng tanga!"

-Batas.

sounds like a racist line from his song Mga Putang Ina Nyo. but before you pull the trigger, it's applicable to the present times. lalo na siguro pag malawak ang pananaw nyo sa buhay at ang nakikita nyo na lang sa kapaligiran ay... alam nyo na. mag sobrang babaw na bagay na hindi naman kailangang pagtuunan pa ng pansin.

it shows mula sa pamamahayag hanggang sa pulitika ng ating bansa ngayon. kayo na bahalang humusga. matinding patama yan ah.

Online Insecurity (Netizens, Attack! Este, Counter-Attack!)

02/07/2012 | 11:15 A.M.

SAYING “NO” TO FACEBOOK CAN BE GOOD TO YOUR HEALTH… SOMETIMES.

SAYING “NO” TO FACEBOOK CAN BE GOOD TO YOUR HEALTH… SOMETIMES.

First things first, pardon me for branding Facebook on the term “social networking.” I just found the term appealing and relevant to it.

Anyway, Facebook has become more popular to the Filipinos since its emergence by 2009. In fact, we are the “social networking capital of the world” ever since the glory days of the social networking pioneer Friendster. And it shows, from the young kicks wanting to meet different people from all sectors of the society; to even kids that are as young as 10 years old (or even younger) will just cheat their age for the sake of securing an e-mail address and sign their own account. Indeed, in the near future, many people would have a philosophy that an online social networking account may be one of a man’s primary requirements and rights. (but come on, “are you serious?”)

Now why are we entitled to such? Well, blame it to our traditions. We are naturally friendly, hospitable at times. We like to make friends and better networks or connections with people.
But what’s wrong on being a sociable person? Honestly, I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, unless if it’s already too much. Liked you’re friends are taking advantage of your kindness for too much, you’ve picked the wrong guy to deal with, or other certain circumstances between parties.

Now I’m not surprised why people who still doesn’t have a Facebook account did not even bother nor consider of having one. But it could be even more surprising if you met an internet savvy for at least once in their lives.

As I observed the people from all the random sectors of the Facebook world, there are things that can be considered why made such choice of being private.

MUL-AW-IN.

Dogs are known to be the man’s best friend. So we should not wonder that like humans, dogs are talented too, like the ever-famous Saber from the now defunct-Magandang Gabi Bayan in the 90s.

As I checked out my channel in YouTube and my old videos in Facebook, I found this mini-feature-slash-documentary. Honestly, I don’t know how it is to called. It’s about talented-street dogs, and these two dogs that yours truly and our group saw in a mall located at the city of Manila; and they were named after the characters of that famous television show. Perhaps, living in spotlight despite poverty on its burdens are carried out by the shoulders of a certain Sergio Redoloza.

Flick Review: Manila Kingpin – The Asiong Salonga Story

01/05/2012 12:45 PM

nhldsbrrd.blogspot.com

Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story is a motion picture made by Scenema Concept International, distributed thru VIVA Films. It has an all-star cast led by Jeorge Estregan, Carla Abellana, Phillip Salvador, Joko Diaz, Ketchup Eusebio, Yul Servo, Baron Geisler, Jay Manalo, John Regala, Jaycee Parker, Ping Medina, Paloma, Valerie Concepcion, Dennis Padilla, and a whole lot more. Screenplay by Roy Iglesias and Rey Ventura, Directed by Tikoy Aguiluz and produced by Maylyn Enriquez and Leonard Villalon.

It is one of the seven entries on the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival held from 25 December 2011 to 7 January 2012.

The movie revolves around the life and times of one of the Philippines' "Public Enemy #1" in the name of Nicasio Salonga, popularly known as Hito, Asiong, and Manila Kingpin for his Robin hood-like tactics. He stole money from other gangs to give money to the poor. And self-proclaimed owning Tondo and protecting his people from the other gangsters and rivals. He turned out to be popular then and a Liberal party follower on how he managed to fight and brutally kill his enemy hoodlums. He faced a life sentence but managed to evade these punishments. How strong his advocacy for change, and even his untimely death of that fateful day of 7 October 1951.

However, this film was hampered by controversy inside its personnel and its releases. Movie Director Tikoy Aguiluz took legal action that removed his name from the reel, promotional materials that include even in the side of social media and the internet. His efforts were due to scenes that had been re-shoot without his consent. Another thing is the so-called "sabotage." In fact, this film was shown to only 17 out of 51 movie theaters in Metro Manila on Christmas Day of 2011, prompting lead actor, also known as Laguna Governor ER Ejercito, to cry "Sabotage!"

But here's my take:

Breaking out at 21

12/01/2011 11:49AM

When I was a young kid, my ambition was to be just a driver. That changed when I was studying at the elementary level. I got bullied a lot, though, at lesser times, I fought back at them. At the same time, I became interested in writing, creating PowerPoint presentations and maybe wanted to be a cartoonist after attempting to draw Dexter many times. And I was even trying to do web designing on my own right then. Perhaps, would people think about me being a whiz kid despite having weird antics with those ability to type fast that earned me the right to have a special award for computer subject then?

Random Things that Rocked My College Life (Part 2)

12/01/2011 11:24 AM

College life doesn't revolve around school. For most of the time, it used to be off-campus. Like those that I mentioned in my previous post, it's not primarily happened in class. When my first-year buddy left school for a premier state university then, I knew it would be a heartbreaker for my part, not because of something involved but the fact that she's one of the guys who held me back on my feet through the time. But I have to accept it. People come for a while and eventually leave. Nothing is permanent. And to tell you the truth, my penname (SlickMaster) was influenced by this fellow.

Highway Naming Right Blues

11/24/2011 12:50 PM

Epifanio De Los Santos Avenue was the primary highway at Metro Manila. It has 23.8 kilometers in length and covering the cities of Caloocan, Quezon, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Makati and Pasay. On this road, you will see a lot of industrial and commercial establishments, roadway infrastructures, advertisement billboards, and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3.

Random Things that Rocked My College Life (Part 1)

11/04/2011 12:30 PM

Most of the people had I met told me that high school life was the best part of their school life. However, it's their own opinion, and no one can oppose that. But for me, I'll say it is college. And I know it's been sounding different in your ears? Now, if you're asking me WHY? I have a lot of reasons then, on and off-school-wise.

Misconceptions by Heart

11/04/2011 10:33 AM

Before anything else, this article contains my extremities about almost everyone's favorite topic. So, be careful when you rant back on me because this is what you get from yelling words out of your personal experiences—or just a plain observation as well.

Okay, recently, I noticed several reactions about love, especially at the advent where social networking sites serve as the new avenue for dating. It varies. Some were somewhat decent, while more than half are sad to say indecent.
