Tirada Ni Slick Master: Perilous Footbridge

10/8/2013 9:56:36 PM

Tumaas ba presyon mo?

Punk's Got Punked

9/21/2013 3:29:14 PM

I know. I’ve hated CM Punk for disrespecting the Undertaker’s man weeks before their over-hyped Wrestlemania match at New York.

But heck, he’s on the underdog side this time around. I mean the real “underdog” state of mind. He dueled up against the intercontinental champion Curtis Axel and his former friend Paul Heyman.

Tirada Ni Slick Master: Worldwide Racial Slur

Photo credit: http://vincenton.wordpress.com/2013/10/01/devina-dedivas-bigoted-online-rants-should-shame-rps-politicians-and-protectionists/

O ang “racist remark” na “I did not know those maids have anything in them.” “Poor” and “smelly” pa nga e.

Tirada Ni Slick Master: "Puppy Crush"

10/3/2013 9:57:14 PM

Tigers With An Upset

9/30/2013 12:34:07 PM

And yet again.

Just when you thought that one university from the streets of Jocson in Sampaloc, Mania will end their championship drought, their EspaƱa-based brothers (in UAAP) had a different plan – that is to steal their hopes and literally crush their spirits.

Okay, forget the cheer dance sport that they ruled for a very long period of time (and the bitter fact of going over several slumps on their stunts). University of Santo Tomas is back on the “big dance” stage of basketball, and they will face La Salle for that matter.

Flick Review: ON THE JOB

9/29/2013 11:28:50 AM

"A likably rough-edged hitmen-vs-cops thriller."
- Hollywood Reporter.

"Gritty, convoluted but steadily engrossing crime thriller from Filipino genre maven Erik Matti."
--Variety

“On The Job, is no doubt, the best action movie at the present era of our (Philippine) cinema.”

These are the usual words that I used to see from a lot of movie reviews, be it a legitimate critic or just an amateur from the bloggers’ circle. And come to think that noir poetry (or better known as “poverty porn”) is on the roll again, be it a Jessica Hagedorn book or a “Gates Of Hell” remark from Dan Brown.

Positive feedback aside, I used to wonder if Star Cinema marketed the movie enough since they tied-up with Erik Matti and Dondon Monteverede’s Reality Entertainment, the real group behind OTJ’s conceptualization-to-execution plan (and aside from the former’s celebration of their 20th anniversary). That is something I cannot tell since I don’t really watch the shows from channel 2; and since the time I realized the epidemic dumbness of the present mainstream.

But either way, that made my drive for curiosity to watch that film. Good thing that despite the time I only had in my hands (since only local “rom-com” movies and foreign action counterparts do last for more than a month in cinemas) – I still managed to watch “On The Job” at one of those movie houses in Eastwood City (at that moment, OTJ was only shown in 3 theatres – SM Fairview, Robinsons Galleria and Eastwood Cinemas).

Okay, after 121 minutes of thrilling action, I can only come up with a lot of words to tell about this movie.

69 Things In Life, According To Me

9/26/2013 10:29:18 PM

Supposedly, I should have named this article as "69 Things I Learned So Far in Life." However, due to certain circumstances which I may end up doing either a duplicate or infringement… I decided to change and made some revisions on my content (aside from the fact that I've been struggling on my grammatical errors).

OKAY, I am not a philanthropist. Not even a scientist from a specific field where the study of life, culture and behavior fell under. All I know is I have been travelling in this journey of life for the past 23 years, and still walking and running and walking and running in this same path.

And honestly, the words that you saw in the title of this post are very common. Perhaps, it is also a very basic way for somebody to start writing. Even one of my idols used to wrote his share of insights using that title (with a different number of items, of course). Even the articles and the authors of the famed Readers’ Digest used to publish their own share of 7 Things I’ve learned So Far. And even the guy known as Stefan Sagmeister

Perhaps some will wonder, why 69? I don’t know the answer for that either. I could have putted up 89, 90, 123, or any other number. But aside from 69 as a controversial number to the eyes of conservatives and sexually active peeps, I really have no idea why I ended up listing 69 things.

But anyway, here it goes.

Tirada Ni Slick Master (Birthday Edition)

9/27/2013 8:26:13 PM

Kanina.

Friends ko: Oy, birthday mo na ah!

Ako: OO. E ANO NAMAN NGAYON?

F: Magblow-out ka naman! (BLOWOUT, BLOWOPUT, BLOWOUT)

Ano, blow-out pa?

Playback: Treasure – Bruno Mars

9/14/2013 9:24:21 PM

Certainly there’s this one hit that rocked my musical ears (and mind) so far.

I’m talking about Bruno Mars’ latest single titled “Treasure.” Mars wrote the track alongside Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine and Phredley Brown (with three of the latter known as The Smeesingtons). It was the third single off Mars’ 2012 studio album Unorthodox Jukebox.

Just My Opinion: Subway In Manila?

9/19/2013 10:18:48 PM

Santo Papa: "Tama Na Yan!"

9/21/2013 2:24:20 PM

Malanding Fanboy Problems

7/30/2013 4:11:52 PM

Natural na sa atin ang may hinahangaan. Ke ito man ay kilalang perosnalidad man o hindi sa alinmang bagay tulad ng sining, entertainment, musika, pamamahayag, pulitika, palakasan o sports, at sa kung saan-saan pa.

Pero tama rin ang nabasa ko minsan sa isang Facebook post noon: You have to smash idols before they smash you.

Throwback: Original Prankster

9/18/2013 9:06:37 PM

Here’s something we got for a throwback.

Hey, it’s only this year when I listened to this track for the first time, huh? I’ve been a fan of that 90s punk rock band called The Offspring, especially during those “top-of-the-wee-hours” when Pretty Fly was the first song playing on my radio.
