It’s not very difficult to say “goodbye,” when you really want to utter “please, stay with me (minus the displaying of Agnes’ eyes).” It’s like you can fake the world, but you can never ever deny your true self, isn't it?

When Marriage Proposals Are "So Mainstream"

Marriage proposals may be so sweet, as long as they convey the message PROPERLY. Yes, I mean to emphasize the last word of my first sentence by typing them in ALL CAPS.

Why did I say so? It may be sweet, but at the same time, isn’t that so annoying when proposals have gone mainstream for too much? And I am not pertaining to the pop culture nor bullshits that aired on our respective idiot boxes, eh? As well as we hear on our radio and read on the circulation units.

Then, what the heck am I talking about? Dig this.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for love, and I’m for romance as long as it is shown properly and not exhibiting any badass cases of excessive P.D.A.

But… this? Do you call this shit a marriage proposal? What a BULLSHIT.

Naalala ko ang isang grupo ng mga estudyante noon na pinaunlakan ko ng panayam. Ukol kasi ito sa kanilang thesis na may kinalaman sa citizen journalism.

Aba, sa dinami-dami ba naman ng mga nilalang na pwedeng innterviewhin, bakit ako pa? Pero sa kabila ng pagdududa na unang naisip ng aking utak, tinanggap ko ang alok dahil sa kahit papaano ay may bumibilib pala sa akin ukol sa pagba-blog ko ukol sa mga kaganapan sa ating lipunan. Pasalamat pa ako dahil pakiramdam ko tuloy ay may naiimpluwensyahan pa pala ako sa mga sinusulat ko. Pustahan, karamihan sa mga mahihilig magabasa ng mga artikulo sa internet ngayon, ay hindi naman talagang interesado sa mga nagaganap sa kanyang paligid.

Dati ay may naisulat na ako ukol sa citizen journalism. Pero hayaan n’yo ang inyong lingkod na muling magbigay ng pahayag ukol dun sa lengwaheng naiintindihan ng nakararami sa atin. Come on, pang-Pinoy lang ‘to kaya ilalahad ko naman ang aking alam sa wikang Filipino.

Pero patok nga ba sa atin ngayon ang “citizen journalism?”

Kelangan bang ikumpara? Teka, maari bang rumespeto na lamang tayo sa kanila?

Ito ang problema. Hindi tayo marurunong gumalang sa paggalang sa mga taong namayapa na. Aba'y pagkumparahin ba naman ang pagkamatay ng isang aktor sa isang diplomatikong icon?

Ano ang ibig kong sabihin? Ito lang naman: ang pagkamatay ni Paul Walker, isang action star na tampok sa limang pelikula ng the Fast and the Furious, ay pinagluluksahan ng halos sinuman. Samantalang yung pagpanaw naman ni Nelson Mandela, dating presidente ng Timog Africa, ay pawang mga diplomat lang ang nakikidalamhati.

Just My Opinion: Paul's Untimely Departure

I’m not a huge fan of the Fast and the Furious movie series. In fact, I only saw the first three installments prior to watching their sixth last summer.

All I know is that Brian O’Conner was part of that film alongside Ludacris and Vin Diesel. He was the detective-turned-agent (later, based on the articles about his character development on a man’s best friend called Wikipedia) who always chasing Dominic Torretto, aside from Hobbs. And I am also excited about how the seventh motion picture of the action-packed F&F franchise will roll. Supposedly it will roll in the silver screens by summer (US time zone) next year.

Until that Saturday afternoon in America (Sunday morning Manila time) broke the news – and the 40 year-old Paul Walker died on the spot, with his companion whose a race car driver. Yes, shocking as it is, right? His car rammed into a tree and exploded. Almost the same scenario on Han’s character during the Tokyo drift episode.

Alright, just as always what I've always telling you, I am may be a Catholic but I’m more of a spiritual guy. Yes, despite everything that I am more expressing about (of course, you will really have that kind of impression on me unless you meet in person).

However, enough of corny and heavy satirical jokes, exposes-about-society-and-mainstream’s-bullshits, and for now... let’s shy away from my favorite culture and literary choices. Let’s turn into the side of inspirational. Well, for now.

Babala: Ang sanaysay na ito ay naglalaman ng mga lengwahe at tema na hindi angkop sa mga nakababatang mangbabasa. Wastong pag-unawa ang kailangan. Ang mga nagamit na pangalan – tao man o lugar – sa akdang ito ay pawang koinsidensyal lamang.

Nasira yata ang momentum. Matindi na sana ang birahan. Kaso... ano ‘to, patawa? Actually, hindi. Taktika lang pala. Pero ika nga, sa duluhan ng bawat pangungusap ay may tuldok. Ibig sabihin, walang kalokohan na hindi natatapos o nabubuking. Pero actually, matatapos na nga ba ito?

Ang mga tampok na salita na nailahad sa blog post na ito ay ang mga salita na naging uso sa kamalayan ng mga tao - sa personal man na approach o sa birtwal na mundo lang ng internet. Karamihan ay may kanya-kanyang panahon ng pagsibol. Tinatayang mula 2009 hanggang sa kasalukuyang taon ang itinampok rito.

Karamihan sa mga salitang nauuso ay maituturing na kabilang na kolokyal na lengwahe. Pero ang tanong ay may kabuluhan ba ang mga ito? Kung bitin kayo sa part 1 ng blog na ito, e... tigil-tiglan n'yo na ang pagta-tantrums n'yo, dahil narito na ang Part 2 ng serye ng mga pananaw ko ukol sa mga nauusong salita.
