Playback: Mistletoe Disco Band – Auld Lang Syne

1/4/2015 2:29:12 PM

I’d like to kick off 2015 (though I've already written a lot of posts prior to this one) with this song.

Yes, after years and even decades of mystery in my mind, I only found this thing from one of my Facebook friends. Yes, when he posted the track on the evening of December 31, 2014; just in time when I was writing my yearend post then.

Yay or Nay? The Shockers, Stunners, and Suckers of 2014 (Part 4)

1/6/2015 8:25:23 AM

I managed to write the first two parts of this series previously known as the Yay or Nay? The Shockers of 2014. But again, since almost every single news item (if not all) brought uop our level of consciousness, I decide to rename the entire thing as the Shoclers, Stunner and Suckers of 2014. Stun and Shock may be synonymous to each other but I really meant ‘shock’ in general and ‘stun’ on the positive limelight here.

We were stunned by the outcome of all the things which are considered positive in our eyes simply beacuse it brought nothing but good vibes and uplifted out spirits, at least, for a while.

But on the flipside, there are some controversial issues which should have not been brought to circulation in the first place. But still, we ended up wasting our time, effort to think, kinetic energy and even saliva simply because we are bored.

Anyway, here are the continuation of the other shockers, stunners and suckers of the the year that was... yes, 2014!

CM Punk, or known as Philip Jack Brooks, who claimed he got his termination papers in the WWE on his wedding day with wrestler AJ Lee, signed up for a multi-fight deal with the MMA firm UFC.

The move triggered mixed reactions from both pro wrestling and the mixed martial arts aficionados.

Say, is CM Punk ready for this? I think so, considering him making decisions in his right frame of mind. Sure, wrestling may be dangerous as shit despite criticisms on their storylines, but MMA was even a tougher one; considering this: the MMA has been the venue for much intense and skillful training;and at the same time, the sport which gave the fans more kind of entertainment. Admit it, folks: the likes of UFC are where blood and pain was the name of the game.

Well, all I can say is… good luck on that endeavor.

The Rundown Slam: WWE TLC 2014

12/30/2014 8:43:16 PM
It was near Christmas, and the World Wrestling Entertainment pulled off their version of “Demolition Derby,” and it’s on the home of King James, the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll, the place where the Q lives in – Cleveland, Ohio. Talk about the WWE’s Tables, Ladders, Chairs, and Stairs, or better known as TLC (TLCS term, though, sucks).

Anong Pake Mo Sa Cake Nila DongYan?

1/4/2015 3:29:46 PM

December 30, 2014: Day of National Amnesia and the Royal Wedding Fiasco

1/4/2015 2:06:25 PM

Teka, tangina, in the first place kalian ba naging summer ang atmosphere ng Kapaskuhan sa Pilipinas?

Dahil Tapos Na Ang Holiday Break…

1/2/2015 11:06:06 AM

Congrats!

So, ano na?

This is Awesome (The Notable Matches on the WWE PPV Events of 2014 Part 2)

12/30/2014 11:39:47 AM

Let me reiterate: this is sole my opinion alone, and not a reflection of views from any wrestling affiliations I belonged with. Yes, after all, I don’t consider myself a total smark, but an avid follower.

The arrangement of the matches listed in this article were chronologically, and not on a countdown-like basis. All matches were held on their Pay Per View (PPV) events.

For every WWE pay-per-view event, there were at least one, two, or few more cards which deserved this type of chant.

Hereby are the last of my part two series regarding my take on the best matches made in the World Wrestling Entertainment for 2014.

Yes, and I intend to start this post with that “This Is Awesome” clip from the 2014 Slammy Awards. Not because of the nominees, but the hype the music brought on it. How I wish I could play that one minus the commentary as the background while you guys read this post.

Yay or Nay? The Shockers, Stunners, and Suckers of 2014 (Part 2)

12/30/2014 2:07:38 PM

Honestly speaking, I was in doubt for naming this post Shockers of 2014. I know: every year, news will always shock us, regardless if it runs on the same old shitty cycle or not.

But I beg to digress and I can’t help it. It’s like every year there will be happenings here in the metro, or somewhere in the country, or even around the globe that will wake our consciousness, regardless if it sounds stupid or legit; if it contains shallowness or well-excavated depth; or just because of a prominent name alone. Anyone who’s been scrutinizing all the current events and news should know there are key elements why such stories made it to the communication medium no matter how much we hate it or love it.

I tried recalling most (if not all) of the news that struck us in the year 2014 and gave my take on them as much as I can. If it differs on your point of view, then who cares anyway?

All stories enlisted on this article are arranged randomly.

The Year Ender

12/31/2014 8:25:35 PM

First and foremost, I’ll try to make it short as possible, though you guys knew me for writing novel-ish liked length of posts. And at the moment, it’s been less than four hours before the turn of the year. And since I’ve been struggling to write much lately, I have to let the rush flow in to me in putting up this one.

When the OPM Rocks The Philippines Ten Years Ago...

12/23/2014 11:30:49 AM

It’s been a decade ago where the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) rocked the entire Philippine music scene, considering the fact that US mainstream (or let’s say foreign, in general) always been the standout among the local music charts.

Yes, the local music scene dominated 2004 wherein the likes of Usher (Yeah, My Boo, Burn), Nelly (My Place), Alicia Keys (If I Ain’t Got You), and even the alternative rock acts such as Maroon 5 (She Will Be Loved), 3 Doors Down (Here Without You) and Hoobastank (The Reason) were household names in Billboard.

I remember printing out pages from those music countdowns of Magic 89.9, 97.1 Campus Radio LS FM and even 99.5 RT, seeing one song in common: Rainbow by South Border.

Playback: Enrique Iglesias – Bailando

12/21/2014 11:50:32 AM

I’ve always considered Enrique Iglesias as one of the best contemporary Latin Pop musicians, aside from of course the always-hot multimedia star Thalia and former Menudo (and a confirmed one) Ricky Martin. Of course, his music has rocked both the world of Spanish and English languages for over a decade or so. And perhaps I can tell Escape, I Like It, and Tonight I’m Lovin’ You (or the uncensored one which is titled “Tonight I’m Fucking You”) to name a few.

Just over the recent years, it’s always those upbeat tracks which rocked my musical side the most (or maybe that’s just me anyway). This year, that posthumous single by Michael Jackson named Love Never Felt So Good made my year. Now, I’ve got top add another danceable track on that list, and it’s actually a mixture of Spanish pop and hip-hop. Talk about “Bailando,” Iglesias’ sixth single off the album Sex and Love which sent the world into their dancing moves since summer.

Well, the term itself was defined as “dancing.”
